In adults who are neurologically intact, mumbling is typically due to inadequate jaw and lip movement/opening during speech. You can practice by exaggerating jaw and lip movement (the mirror idea is a good one) and speaking into a tape recorder with a separate microphone.

I don't know my friend does that ALL THE TIME!!! I can never understand her. This sounds crazy just try leaving yourself a voice message on your phone or something. Talk until the lady says that the time is up or whatever. Listen to yourself and see how you sound.

Then just practice like that. If that doesn't help deal with it. That could be what makes you, you. Good luck!

SAME!!!

well now im better at it..

just slow down when you talk.. not slo-mo talk but sit in your room and read some senteces out loud.. take your time.. eventually your speech will become clearer..

also idk but if you dont look at the person face when you talk that ccan contribute with mumbling, it goes hand in hand most of the time..

Practice in the mirror and on family members.. just try and make eye contact and just talk about stuff.. but take your time when talking and annunciate your words as best as possible..

over time things will get better..

dude my sister used to have the exact same problem when she was younger, and she always got mad when she had to repeat herself.

She ended up going to speech class for a year, but she was like 8.
Basically the only thing you can do is teach yourself voice projection (speaking louder and more clearly).
it'll become habit after a while.
Just speak with confidence.

Just a simple and easy answer ,try to speak slowly and prepare what your are going to say before you say.

Be confident what you are speaking.

doing this several days may help i did have it past but have now improved almost completely.

Just speak louder, so people can hear you.
