if i want a small ring the pain will be less?

Not really, it's gonna hurt some no matter what size ring you get.. I had mine done about 8 years ago and it was one of my favorites. Also it did not hurt that bad not nearly as bad as my nipples. I used a horseshoe and loved it, it was very easy to flip up and hide when needed. I say go for it.

The thing is with Septum piercing, is that it splits through a nerve. When this nerve is severed, its always looking for its other half, so when ever your ring gets touched it will be a bit of a shock. The size doesn't matter in that case.
A nice little fact about septum piercings: They used to do this to bears and other circus animals, so they would stand if you pulled on a rope attached to the ring.

I have my septum piereced it didn't hurt. I like the look but took the ring out abot 3 years ago the hole is still open and sometimes it gets sticky ...YuCk

No. Either way it's a needle through your skin. I've gotten pierced in everything between 20ga and 12ga, and they all hurt.

Not really, it's one of the most painfull places for a peircing.
I guess it'd be a teeny tiny less painfull.

nope.wont hurt any less it might be a pain for your piercer to get in your nose though.

yuck!!! feral!!! didnt know what septum was until googled it. Don't do it!! belly buttons and clits look good pieced but not the nose..
