Alow Vera gel works great (pure 100% aloe) BUT let me tell you something that will knock your socks off!
There's this spray called Solarcaine. It's a green can with a white lid (looks like a small spray-paint can) and it relieves sunburn, itch, and helps with the peeling.
here it is:

You spray it on and it feels like this nice cool mist, and then you GENTLY (I know, sunburn hurts a LOT) rub it in.
It really really helps with the itching and has a numbing agent in it to help with the pain.
Oh gosh it works so great.
I had this BAD sunburn from a tanning bed and I was R-E-D and it hurt soooooo bad, so I sprayed this stuff on 3 times a day and in two days it was gone-no lie.
You can buy it at the nearest drugstore. It will totally be worth it once you get it I SWEAR to you nothing works better!

The best way for a horribly unbearable sunburn is call the doctor and tell them and he will call you in a steroid called prednisone to help heal but if you dont think it is that bad then go to the store and get you self some aloe vera lgel they have clear green and blue buy theblue kind because it has a numbing agent in it and take a couple tylenol every 4 hours and it will definatley help hope this helps you out

Aloe, solarcain, and some pain meds. It will hurt for a bit, but you can also put cold Noxzema face cleansing creme on it; it sounds odd, but it helps take the heat out of the skin. If it is REALLY bad, as in it is blistered, go to the doctor.

Ever heard of Solar Cane? Try spraying some of that on and then lay out on your bed or something with a fan blowing on your burned areas. That always helps me. I burn very easily. Aloe Vera gel really helps, too.

aloe vera helps with the pain and the burn. cold water might hurt but yet again hot might too. cold stops the burning process to an extent. but aloe vera works well. lotion too cuz the skin is dried out and the lotion will help to remoistureize it and help with healing.

i know this sounds weird but vinegar takes the sting out, so does tea. and peroxide will help turn it brown. also try noxzema or aloe vera.
