The Versa gets less has mileage than a Corolla, is smaller, and is a brand new car. You should probably just get a newer Corolla.
The Corolla rules all at 41mpg. That would be my choice for a newer car. A 2000 Corolla runs 3k-4k dollars. Very reliable, roomy, and comfortable to daily drive.

That's a lot of miles you're putting on the car (360 miles x 52 weeks = 18,720 miles a year assuming you never drive on the 7th day of the week and never take any unplanned trips).
Using your mileage figures, the 22mpg car would use $2552 in gas per year while the 32mpg car would use $1755 (so, a savings of almost $797 per year).
In a case like this I would stay away from a new car. You'll burn up the warranty prematurely (in less than 2 years if you get a car with a standard 3 year/36k mile bumper-to-bumper warranty), and the more miles you put on a new car, the faster it depreciates.
Why is this an either/or situation? Why don't you just buy a used car that gets better gas mileage?

So if you are going 360 Miles a week you will use 16.37 gallons of gas at 22 MPG and 11.25 gallons a week at 32 MPG. I dont know what the difference in price is in the two cars, but by going with the better mileage car you are saving $15.36 a week.

It's buying a used car you can get ripped off on, if you don't know what you're buying. At least if you buy a new car you are assured of the condition of the vehicle and are protected by a manufacturer warranty.
As far as your question goes, you are the best judge of how much you can afford for gas, not us.

You never said what the original car was and how much you paid for it verses a new car we can`t compare it to because you failed to tell us what it was. New car has a warranty . And may have to spend a lot of time being repaired under that warranty. no cost. also no car. used car has most of the problems fixed. yes things break. and they do on all cars. $800 a year on a 10 yr old ain`t bad

My life experience with buying used cars is that you also buy the previous owners headaches. By new and you have warranty.
