Dear Father K, Good for you. I just knew you would hold your own - so to say.

Dear "milmom" - I didn't aim this at anyone. I was just curious if I was alone.

oh yea. Not sure if you just aimed this at Atheist's. But I did argue constantly with my bible study leaders, my pastor and eventually got kicked out of church for being a heretic.
Silly me for using my brain and wanting to know who, what, where, how, and when.

they disfellowshipped me and I eventually moved on. Tho I find it funny that many will still in an awkward way ask me about what I believe in now and where they can read up on it.

The year I was planning to get married, I called a priest at a church that my parents belonged to, and signed me up, without my permission, to be a member.
Well the church alone was beautiful and hugh. And I did really like this church. So I called and talked to the priest and he was condeming me over the phone. I was raised to have respect for my elders so I was just sitting there on the phone, rolling my eyes. And finally he said he wouldn't be able to marry us because I wasn't strong enough in my faith. So, I hung up on him, and called another priest and the next may we got married in the same church but, a different priest. I was 21 years old then. And for a long time I thought I was going to hell because I hung up on him.

Yes, I found it quite hypocritical of my Catholic priest to scold me for remarrying when nothing is being done about the priests worldwide who have and likely continue to rape orphaned little boys. It is still a mystery to me why Catholics worldwide are not more outraged by this. This is what some of the 'Tides' (collection funds) go-towards hush money to pay off families of victims. If not for this -we would know what the real 'numbers' are!

He wasn't my religious leader but I have argued respectfully with a few. Where I used to live years ago, we had the same phone number of Heritege Village (Jim and Tammy Baker's Ministry in SC) And if you forgot to dial the out of state area code you got us. One day this Baptist minister called thinking we were them. (I loved these phone calls lol) So I told him we weren't but we were Christians and proceeded to question him as to the validity of the Baker's "bless me" gospel and ministry. He got so up in arms that someone would think that wasn't a great Christian ministry. (It was a resort. If you gave them $1,000 you got a season pass to go there for life) So we hung up an hour later agreeing that we disagreed. A week later their scandel unfolded, it was a media sensation and they were both arrested for mishandling of funds, she was later aquitted and he ended up being gay. The moral of the story, think for yourself and trust your gut feeling. Pastor isn't always right.

I have argued with my religious leader. I believe what the bible says and I get frustrated when man adds to it without written proof.

Actually, I have a really cool Church. The only thing I don't like is we have to wear nice clothes which I argued with my Dad about.

Well, when I was being raised baptist the Sunday school teachers couldn't handle me because of the questions I asked so they sent me to the Reverend and I would argue with him all the time.

As an atheist I have talked with other atheists but have yet to actually argue with one.

Why limit it to "your religious leader?" I'll argue with any religious leader.....sometimes you will find out facts you could never find out in any other way. When the temperature is high tongues slip.

I never have. I am blessed with a leader who is a strong, dedicated man of God who I trust to always consult with the Holy spirit before attempting to teach.
