okay, so most of you people say that you hate the illegal immigrants for the fact that they broke the laws.. which, even I, think is an understandable argument..

but I believe that most americans only look skin deep when it comes to this issue..
if it was a problem with canada: twenty-million english speaking white people conveniently moving themselves and their families into our country, would you care? or would you even notice?
I think that a lot of you people really need to look past the language barrier and the color of skin and you will see that the latino immigrants are just looking for a better life.. one that they can't afford to get legally because of the horrible wages of their home countries...
I'm all for the amnesty movement.. they want what everyone else wants... a better life...

Very Good Question !!!
This is in fact true. There are many people from Poland who are illegally in this country and nobody cares as long as they have blue eyes and blond hair.
Don't get me wrong . This people are hard workers and my respect to them. There is "Other" people who make the differences.

i believe there is a small group of racist anti-illegals out there, but i believe the majority arent racist at all. Im anti amnesty, and it doesnt matter what race or language you speak, you broke the law.
If you support a better life for people, how on earth can you support amnesty?

what happens when you have a huge increase of low skilled, uneducated labor?
If all of the sudden you have 20 million (or so) people looking for jobs, do you honestly think employers are going to offer incentives to retain workers?
your high paying construction job, will no longer have to give you health care, dental, vision, or even a decent pay. They can afford to get rid of you because there are 12 more people directly behind you wanting that job.
This would cause a crisis across the united states. if you want to protect wages: "can't afford to get legally because of the horrible wages of their home countries" how can you support amnesty? the wages in this country would drop faster then you can imagine. we would end up like their home countries simply because a few people 'wanted to help' without looking at the dangers.
i just dont understand why the pro amnesty people think amnesty is going to help these people.

It is NOT a race or nationality issue - it is a LEGAL issue.

Yes - everyone tends to think of illegal immigrants being hispanic. But when over 90% are, it tends to put a face - or "race" - onto the issue.

It is the same thing that in movies every single serial killer is a creepy looking white guy. Most serial killers are creepy looking white guys, so that is how they are "pictured".

Again, it is nothing more than a legal issue. I am sure there are those that see the issue as a way to express their bigotry, but I think that percentage is rather small. Like the illegal immigrants from other nations of the world.

Sorry, but you are wrong. Of course there are a few who think that way.

Myself, I just know that they are damaging our economy, and they are keeping wages low, and they are breaking our laws. You want to tell my Mexican wife whose parents immigrated here legally 5 years before she was born, so she is a citizen, that I am racist against Mexicans? How about telling her parents who I love dearly as they are the best inlaws anyone could ever ask for?

It is not a race issue. If the Canadians come across and cause the economic distress that the Mexican illegals cause...YOU BET I WOULD WANT THE DEPORTED!

Oh sweetie I think you need to open you eyes to see what is really going on.. The illegals come to the United States and trash our land, won't speak our language and expect to get everything for free. They go into the department stores and trash everything. They get "knocked up" knowing that they come come to the United States and give birth to illegal immigrant that they can't even afford and then the hard working UNITED STATES citizens have foot the bill. ONE MORE THING.... If you are not an U.S. Citizen, then you don't have ANY right in the UNITED STATES.... Go back to Mexico!

I'm just about sick of this... "oh what if Illegals were white, then you wouldn't have a problem" -it's not about race, language, religion, disability, or anything else you can try and come up with.. it's about making sure my Government is securing our borders and making sure that me, my family, my friends, my fellow citizens, and legal immigrants are safe.. it's about making sure that everyone has an opportunity to come into this country that want a better life.. but you have to stand in line and wait your turn... no butting in line.. please listen to me IT IS NOT A RACE ISSUE! it's about legal and illegal and coming into this country without stopping to check in is ILLEGAL

Please stop using that lame argument "If it was a problem with Canada" crap!!! Why don't you use the same argument & say that if 20 million Africans tried to "invade" the United States, every single boat would be stopped in it's tracks. Mexican's are considered White. Americans are not racist towards Hispanics, but you can't say the say thing when it comes to the Black race. We still feel it to this day. It really makes me sick to think that you try to play the race card when you really haven't experienced racism at all. This isn't an issue of race!!! It is an economic issue. Let's see 20 million Africans illegally get by... That is when you will see an issue of race. What I am trying to say is... America does have it's issues when it comes to racism; but... the illegal immigration issue is not one of them!!! Stop playing the race card!!!

In other words, you accept it is about criminals....but continue to claim racism anyway with absolutely no proof?

Exactly who is the racist again?

The better life argument is very sweet. But either come here legally--or make a better life where you are. If you are willing to risk death crossing a river or desert or riding a dangerous train to get here..why aren't you willing to do what it takes to risk changing a bad environemnt in your nation of origin?

Because there you don't have tax paying americans subsidizing your sorry, leach off the American tax supported infrastructure to the tune of $40billion a year. Because your country of origin doesn't provide those types of benefits to anyone.

You are here to steal our lifestyle from us. When you are done, you will turn america into the 3rd world country you left. You are bankrupting us and destroying us. Just like happens at the place you left. You won't be satisfied until the whole world is brought down to your level.

I resent your lame attempt to make it a race issue with no proof whatsoever. It is oh-so-easy (and intellectually lazy) to pull the race card it--you can't prove it, we can't disprove it, and so we will as a result piss all over each other in the process.

Not so very helpful......much like your question.

I know it's hard to except but the amnesty bill was defeated By the will of the USA citizens that's what we wanted an got. It's gone, no more,a none issue. Why keep talking about it like it's something that's going to appear again. Race or color we do not hate anyone,we love all, that's why so many are welcome to be here legally. It's illegally that we have issues with.

I don't care what color they are.

I do care that they are stealing people's jobs here rather then fix the problems in their own country. You ever hear of the term "scab worker" that is what the illegals are.

In our country we formed union's to combat the abuses to our working class. We demanded job safety and wages that could support a family. Scab workers came in and threatened that. The scabs often came from the same racial groups as the union workers. People killed each other over this issue.

Now Mexicans (and other groups) are just stepping in to benefit from everything our people did. And we aren't supposed to be angry?

RACE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT, WE WANT WHAT IS OURS BY RIGHT.

Instead of all this protesting and boycotting here, stock up on supplies to take home and MAKE MEXICO TAKE CARE OF ITS WORKERS.

If they're looking for a better life that's fine with me but come legally. Mexico brutalizes people at their border allowing no one to pass through. Also Mexico would never allow illegals to protest in their country. Heck, no country in the world would allow those things to happen and neither should we. There is a reason we want legal immigration and that's so we know who is coming here and for what reason which I believe is very reasonable in todays climate....
