Your Mom is right, you 2 need to bond. try finding something you both like 2 do( fishing , movies w/e) Just something that would be fun for you two. I hope your Mom told your Dad about the bonding too. Perhaps your Dad has some ideas too!! Sounds like it could be a really fun weekend.

Do you know what your Dad enjoys?

If you don't have a lot of money to spend then ask him to go play ball with you order some pizza and watch movies that you both can enjoy.

You can also start a conversation of how things are at school and what you plan to do for the future if you have any plans and ask him for advice. Parents really enjoy that from their kids.

Just open up to your Dad and you can both realize the bonding you have.

You know, I am a FEMALE -- and I remember well the times that I bonded with MY OWN FATHER over the Workshop -- learning Circuitry, how to plumb a fixture, fix a sticky window or door, replace a toilet valve, work on the car (maintenance), and even such things as using various tools around the yard -- you know, yardwork!

To this day -- I remember all these skills, and it allowed me to live my life confidently -- and that meant that I NEVER had to 'put up with' a jerk of an ex (abusive, violent sociopath) and could STEP OUT ON MY OWN and LIVE Successfully as a SINGLE WOMAN -- even a Long Term Single Parent!

So these are my suggestions -- build something, help him categorize/organize tools, go out and help with the yardwork, ask him what he is doing to fix things around the house (and yes, volunteer to TRY to fix it under his instruction!), etc etc etc.

GREAT bonding activities for ANY Sex child with their father!
