If I leave my XM radio receiver on all the time in my car, will it run down my battery?

Yes, though it will take a while; but it can potentially drain your battery if left on.

There are a few things you can do about this:

Some vehicles have 12v power sockets (cigarette lighters) that switch off automatically with the key. If yours stays on at all times, you could have it re-wired to a key-switched power source instead. This wouldn't be a difficult job for any car electronics shop. Alternately, you can have a second 12v socket installed into the vehicle, and wire it to a key-switched power source.

Otherwise, the Xpress XM tuner has an auto-off feature available in the menu settings. This can be set to turn the unit off after it's inactive for a set period of time. If you're concerned about leaving the unit powered on, just activate this feature and you won't have to worry about it.
