ok everyone feels lonely sometimes, and if they say they dont, they are lying. so dont worry about it too much. but sit down and think about why you feel lonely, what is going on in your life that you feel this way, do you really want to be lonely, etc. these questions may sound stupid and it may sound stupid to tell you to think about it, but this is what psychologist do, they get into your head and make you think. so save some money and get into your own head!!! once you have gotten to the root of why you feel lonely, then start changing it slowly. also this wont be easy to change, but it can happen and will happen if YOU want it too!!! but until you want the change and want to fix it, it wont happen. also dont forget to watch the sunset and listen to the birdies!! have fun in life and start doing things you've never done before. hope i have helped you a little bit, good luck and have a good night!!!!!

Feeling lonely is a natural part of life. If it's really bad, or happens often, perhaps find a social hobby or activity with which to occupy your time, and, more importantly, your mind. The more time you spend in a social environment, the less you'll be alone, and the less you'll feel lonely feelings when you ARE alone.

If it's deep, horrible, no-end-in-sight, physically painful loneliness...go to a psychologist, or better yet, a psychiatrist.
I had that for a long time, and it turned out to be depression that needed to be medicated. I tried going out with people, spending more time with my pets, good movies and music, food...everything. Loneliness like that isn't purely emotional. It's also largely chemical. Nothing that you can just do can help.
You need to take care of this especially if it's accompanied by the other symptoms of depression (sleeping habit change, appetite change, loss of interest in things you used to love, etc).

Go to church and join a study with people your age. Go to night school, go some place where there are people. You will find out there are lots of lonely people, you do not find them when you stay home.

Listen to happy, peppy music. Watch a good comedy movie. Call up a friend just to talk about the weather or whatever. If you put on some good dancing music and dance around the room by yourself, it makes you feel better. Try it!!

Talk to a friend about it. Most people have their lonely periods; both married people and single people.
