Most religions have a "day of reckoning". It's a common belief, just like the fact that a lot of people believe "the end is near".
Keeping people in a constant state of fear is an excellent tool of control. President Bush uses it everyday...

The WORD OF GOD teaches us about the second coming in 1 Thessalonians 4 : 13-18. Luke 21:27,acts 1:10-11,Matthew 24:30, Revelation 1:7..and pertaining to the judgement, we have these; Daniel 7:10,John 5 ;28, to name a few.. Revelation 22:12.. this one says alot to me, that the judgement is in progress until JESUS returns..and because the judgement is done when HE returns, because HIS reward is with HIM..Revelation 22:11 indicates that the judgement is done.. there is no changing after it if finished..that is what I believe.

Yes.
The Nicene Creed:
(Jesus) Who, for us men for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary, and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate; He suffered and was buried; and the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures; and ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of the Father; and He shall come again, with glory, to judge the quick and the dead; whose kingdom shall have no end.

What does it mean, to be a Christian? Well, the first thing it means is to be a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ. A Christian is one who has submitted his own will unto his/her Lord, and the Lord lives within their hearts.
But we are not our own, we are bought with a price...and that price was dear indeed. Our God took on mortal flesh. He did this for many reasons...He did it in order to clear up some misunderstandings, for often and often He clarified the law for us, giving us the spirit, not the letter. The letter of the law is dead, and can kill...the spirit of the law gives life! He did it in order to experience first hand what it is like to live as a mortal man, experiencing every pain and every need of the human body, and every temptation we all face every day. When He was tempted in the desert, He was given the choice to rule the world...as long as He would bow down to the Tempter...but He chose the more difficult way, even though He knew it would bring His own torturous death. And that brings me to the final reason for His decision to come to earth in the mortal flesh and blood of a man...He did it in order to pour that precious blood out upon the altar of our Salvation.
Sure, He could have simply nodded His head and said "You are forgiven"...but then, where would be the horror in sin? He could have said "Do these good works, and all will be forgiven", but then, where would be the guilt of sin? How would one ever know when one had worked enough? No, He died in order to fulfill His own law...without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sin. The soul that sins, it shall
d. i. e.
And that brings me to the Day of Resurrection. Those who have put their trust in the Sacrifice that Jesus made for us will not face that day. When He ascended into Heaven, He lead captivity captive...that is, He took with Him all of those souls who had died believing in and looking forward to the Promise God had made to Abraham so long ago...that through his son Isaac, all the nations of the world would be blessed. And so it is...Isaac became the Father of Israel, and Israel brought forth the King of Kings. That is why believers today do not "sleep", but are gathered directly to their God.
So, what of those who have not submitted their hearts to Jesus?
For them, there will be a Resurrection, and a Judgment. It is their hearts that will be weighed on God's scale. Those found wanting will be tossed into God's incinerator, called "The Lake of Fire" to be destroyed, along with Death and Hell and all other things or beings that would hurt or destroy in God's New Creation. But I believe that some will pass through that judgment. God is not without compassion, Jesus is proof of that. They will not live with Him in the Holy City...but God is making ALL things new...a new Universe. I'm fairly sure there will be room...

Yes, I believe in the Rapture...a time when Christ will return to take up His Church (people...followers)
2. Tribulation
3. Final Coming of the Messiah
I do not know if the rapture will be Pre, mid, or post tribulation. I would like NOT to be here for it but it's God's will and not mine.
There are many that do not believe in the rapture...that's ok. I don't have to believe in it either for my salvation. Salvation is in the gospel and belief that Christ died for me and took my sins with Him to the cross. There He paid my debt which I do not deserve to have paid...but accept gladly. He was the spottless Lamb who will return as the Lion

God will judge us all on the Day of Judgement. the day of ressurection was the day that Christ rose from the dead, the third day after He died on the cross for our sins. on the day of judgement, whenever God knows that will be, the dead in christ will rise and we will be judged and told whether to "Depart from me ye who work in inquity" or "Thou good and faithful servant, enter into the joys of heaven." those who are told depart will be sent to Hell to live for eternity where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. those who are told to enter into the joys of heaven will live with God for eternity where there will be no death and no tears.
the quotes may not be exactly right like they were written in the Bible but they give the general idea.

Yes, we will all be judged and resurrected to our eternal rewards. Every human being will be resurrected, regardless of sin. But only those faithful to God (by His own standard of judgement, not ours) will be resurrected to "eternal life".... ie to live in the presence of God.

Yikes - I hate to say it but I believe we are judged when we pass on. I can't believe a loving God would let us lie in a grave or float aimlessly for an indefinate amount of time.

Revelation 20:10 and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done.
13 And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done. 14 Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. 15 And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
Matthew 25:31 "When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left.
34 Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.' 37 Then the righteous will answer him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38 And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? 39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?' 40 And the King will answer them, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.'
41 "Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.' 44 Then they also will answer, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?'
45 Then he will answer them, saying, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.' 46 And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."
