I would rather be called Julia. I hate labels. People often forget that just because someone is a Christian doesn't mean that we won't do bad things, it means that we aren't supposed to. I have never for a minute claimed to be perfect and yet everyone who knows that I am a Christian expects me to be. The only person who was perfect was Christ and that is because He is the Son of God and God. We all have our issues that we have to deal with on a daily, sometimes hourly basis. It's how we deal with these issues that shape who we are. I know that without God, I would be a different, very mean person. I was for a long time and I would never want to be that person again.

I would prolly rather be called a follower of Jesus. I agree with you, these days a Christian can mean anything. If everyone one who said they were a Christian really lived like Christ, the world would be a totally different place.

You make a good point that I would like to expand on. It seems that the label of 'Christian' has taken on a rather divisive tone of late.
Instead of bringing all people together under the banner of peace and love it seems to have taken on more of a feeling of 'you're not one of us'.
I'm a follower of Jesus' ideas but I feel uncomfortable with what the label of 'Christian' has become. Peace out.

Christian. What the world thinks is their affair. And those charlatans will pay dearly at the Great White Throne Judgment for the poor example they set for the lost world, and leading Believers astray.Denying Jesus here will get you a one way ticket to the Lake Of Fire when you die. There's many false christs and there is "another Jesus and another gospel" in this world.Say "CHRISTIAN" and people know what you are.Or what you should be.Good luck with your shame.I am not ashamed of the Gospel of YAH'SHUA.

I believe that a follower of Jesus Christ should be called a Christian. There are all kinds of false prophets throughout the world, we have to be careful of these, but know that you can aways trust in Jesus.

Most of these "TV Christians" are not Christians at all, they are just people caught up in sex, drugs, and stealing.
There are those who think all black people are criminals-does this make it so? --just because of what some think? ---No.
When you watch TV- look for people like D. James Kennedy, Gerald Mann, David Jeremiah, Charles Stanley, James Merit. There are more, I am sure. I can assure you they are not caught up in sex, drugs, or stealing.

You have a good reason for writing your question..there have been and always will be people who say...".I'm a minister of the Christian faith", as they beg for money....and do things that do not represent the ways of Jesus Christ. Jesus taught us to be forgiving...and help the poor and do things that showed love to others....so when we see people using his name in order to get rich...it really makes our blood boil. But in the end when they stand before him on judgment day that will be the time they have to face their maker. So if I had to have a label it would be Christian.

The term "Christian" is a fairly generic term for a system of belief. There are many other more specific terms for denominations inside of Christianity.
Any other name that was used to replace "Christian" would quickly take on the same positive and negative connotations.

question is why do human beings come at here to bash one yet another era? i could desire to work out to ask somebody how they see issues or how they sense approximately issues, or what are your ideals? in comparison to different's...yet to rather bully and phone call is purely incorrect. If it gets to you, do not come on for a on an identical time as, and supply it a relax. you will locate peace that way. Coming here is like walking between a conflict zone and ducking stones being hurled back and forth.

It is not a title that makes a person, it is what u think about that person that counts..GOD gave us the gift of discernment to know the difference between right and wrong. That is not judging..but as a christian it's not what someone is called it's how the person uses the gift of discernment that counts.. spoken by Mrs. spotlite. I think that by beholding we become changed.. that by their fruits you will know them , and when the SEPARD speaks HIS sheep know HIS voice and follow HIM.
