I remember them putting a mask on me, tellingm e they were going to clean the area and then calling my name telling me to sit up. It's nothing at all.

I've had surgery many times and have had general anehtesia all those times. You don't really feel too much, a lot of times if I'm not thinking about it one minute you're chatting with the doctors and the nurses and then you just aren't, and 5 minutes later you're awake in the recovery room. When I got the liquid through an IV I wasn't thinking about it and I was talking with the nurses, then like 2 minutes later I was like "hmm, getting a little sleepy" and then I don't remember too much after that. When you get the mask obviously you are more conscious of it, and even then you just focus on breathing and you feel a little tired and the next minute you're out, the last time I had surgery I did try to think about what it felt like more when I was being put out, and its really pleasant you feel like relaxed and you get these little tingly sensations in other parts of your body as they relax and then the next minute you're gone. I like it actually, its very nice and relaxing.

NO, actually it is fun. first they give you -- if I remember right -- morphine and that feels great. It's just like a relax feeling. then they wheel you in the operating room. that part for me was scary because it looked cold with the wall tiles and stuff. But yeah, you don't even know when it happens. they just explain everything to you, they make chit-chat and YOU ARE OUT! i LIKEd IT. i thought it was fun!

It it so quick (fading away feeling) it happens before you know it. If you are really anxious you can relay this to your doc. and he can give you something to relax you before they take you in to be put under the anesthesia.

It's pretty cool. They tell you to count back from 100. So you're going 99, and thinking "I'm not gonna go under!:" The next thing you know, they're waking you up and telling you it's all over. And then you feel sooo comfortable and rested. :)

I felt nothing the last time i was put under. Once i felt as if I were floating out of the oral surgeon's chair up to the clouds. It felt good, not scary.

There is nothing to it. One minute the anesthetist is saying, "Okay, we're going to give you some medicine that will make you sleepy." The next minute - or so it seems - you are in recovery and the nurses are waking you up. It's actually pretty cool!

For me it wasn't scary at all - I was wide awake in the O.R. one moment, then with no sense of any time having passed at all I was groggily waking up in recovery the next moment.
