and then ignore scientific evidence that's disproves their beliefs?
God gave the scientists the knowledge and ability to prove the world is millions of years old (if not billions) yet christians (who claim that god itself gave these people their abilities) won't believe it?

martin---the point is, claims that god has given the talent to the scientists.......there's no scientist in the world that believes the earth is less than 50,000 years old........and the vast majority believe it's in the millions at least......still, the point is, religious folk, while trying to outmaneuver non-believers, have created a paradox for themselves......they want us to believe that their god is behind their discoveries yet won't believe ANY discoveries that contradict their religious beliefs.

Scientists are not necessarily inspired by GOD. Some may be inspired by the Devil. Why do I say this? It's not much different with theology. Most who call themselves Christians, are actually following the Devils lies. There CANNOT be more than one truth. The same with science.
GOD bless

"God gave the scientists the knowledge and ability to prove the world is millions of years old (if not billions)"
There is no actual proof of how old the earth is. It may well be millions or billions of years old but scientists cannot prove how old it is. They can only come up with methods of trying to calculate how old the earth is in the hope that they have not left some important item out of the equations that they use.
For instance scientists believed for many years that it was impossible to design a working high powered laser because the heat escaping from the beam would melt the end of the barrel and cause the device to blow up. They applied all of their scientific knowledge to the problem and came up with a logical conclusion that seemed extremely reasonable. Now we know that they were wrong.
It is the same with the methods that scientists use to date things. Because the methods are less than a hundred years old they don't have the evidence to show how accurate their methods are. They cannot account for what may have happened in the past that could throw their calculations off by quite a bit.
Then there is the problem of time. Time is relative and recent tests would seem to indicate that time itself is slowing down. Even if those tests are incorrect it makes sense that if time is relative to motion then time has not always been moving at the same rate as it is today since the universe is slowing in it's expansion.
Last of all it could be that God created this planet with apparent age since He created Adam and the plants and animals full grown. God could have accelerated time during the process of creation to get things to be just the way that He wanted them to be.
Even if none of those possibilities is true it doesn't mean that there are a not a lot of other possibilities that could throw off the calculations of today's scientists just like the scientists who figured that it was impossible to design a working high powered laser.

If you don't see any proof of God, then you need to open your eyes. Because you can't see Carbon Dioxide, does not mean it doesn't exist. Because you can't see wind, does not mean it doesn't exist. Because you can't see God, does NOT mean He doesn't exist. There IS proof of God, it is the Creation around you. Look around and you will find proof. You really think that DNA could form out of chance? You really think that the brain you think with could be formed by chance? You really think that galaxies could be formed out of chance? Whether creation or evolution, something always had to be existing. While you say "Who created God?", another question is also important. " Who created the chemicals that started evolution?" "Who created the energy, which supposedly according to evolutionists, existed?" "Who created the explosion/Big Bang?" If you can answer these questions, then I can answer your question "Who created God?" Where is your evidence of evolution? I don't think there is any. Evidence of God is everywhere. From the beautiful Sunset to the Sunrise, from the beautiful varieties of birds to the fish. From the very breath you breathe to every heartbeat, from the process of a seed to the solor system. The world and universe are too perfect to be chance. Just like you can feel wind, you can feel God. You just have to be in the right frame of mind, and be in the right religion and church. I know there is a God because of experience, you can't disprove experience. Until you have been through this kind of awesome experience, don't tell me there is not any kind of evidence of God. The Apostolic EXPERIENCE is the ULTIMATE PROOF. (God did come down to earth, problem is, the Jews crucified Him. He died because of the Love for the world. The Jews are still looking for Him. They didn't even recognize He was here.) (If God did come down today, and showed all of His power, why do you think people would start worshipping Him? It would probably be because of His Power, probably some out of fear. God didn't want people to worship Him out of fear, but out of love. Also, if He did come to earth, the whole world would worship Him, with no true commitment. If the world rejected Him 2,000 years ago, why would today be any different?)

Good morning Storm.....This is my view on this subject....First of all I am a Christian but more now as a spiritualist. Now I believe that God created the earth and the heavens and I believe that He created all things and man but I also believe that when God created He also let evolution take it's course as well. God started life but evolution finished it so do speak. Now when God created man, He gave man a brain to "think" with the capability in choosing, thinking, learning and teaching others. God didn't just push a button to each human and decide which one would be smart and the other dumb. We all have the capability to "think" for ourselves and to learn great things. Scientists are the humans that decided to choose this type of career on their own. God gave them the brain but it was to their own choosing. All of us have our own destiny on which road to take. God placed us on a path of life but it's our choosing as one of His children to decide what path to take. God wasn't going to make life all easy for us. He placed obstacles in the way so we could choose for ourselves. This is why God gave us the power to "think" and "learn". We are the only species on earth that can do this. To make choices and to be taught and to teach others for what we know. God gave us the brain and it's our choice whether to use our brain or not. Have a blessed day!

They haven't proved that he doesn't exist...if anything they've proved that he does. and no one can really say how old the world is....only God. after all he did create it. and I believe when referring to God, you should say "Himself" not itself. He is not an " it ".
