Every child is a gift from God, no matter how they entered the world.
Our Heavenly Father has certainly designed the world so that it includes an environment that is healthy and nurturing for a child; that is the family. Ideally a family is a mother and father, married and committed to one another. And from this loving relationship, children are created.
However, as we all know, the world is not always ideal. People sin, and so some children are born into sad situations; bad things do happen.
The best answer I've heard for why bad things happen is from Fr. John Corapi. He said, "When bad things happen, it is always for a greater good. We need only look at Jesus on the Cross as proof of that." We may learn sometime in the future what "good" came of it, or sometimes it may not be for us to know. But there is always a good. That is what gives me comfort in bad times, because we will make ourselves crazy trying to figure out the "why" of everything in the world.
No matter how you were created, God loves you and He has a purpose destined for you. Scripture tells us in Isaiah 49, that God will never forsake you:
15 Can a mother forget her infant, be without tenderness for the child of her womb? Even should she forget, I will never forget you. 16 See, upon the palms of my hands I have written your name
Please know that you are loved.

Ok, I will try to answer this as with as much sensitivity as possible. God did not create your parents to become "drunks" as you call them and then have sex- however you were created by God in that sexual encounter, so yes, you are special.
Children are a gift of God- no matter how they were conceived, and for those who cannot conceive, that does not make God wrong- there are children out there that were conceived and can be adopted to be that gift in another families life- My family has 3 people who are examples of this- I am adopted and so are my 2 kids. Our birth moms, chose to have sex and could not raise us, that does not negate the fact that children are gifts- I became the gift to my mom and dad who could not conceive, and my 2 children are gifts from God to my husband and I. No one can give life , except God- God is using the man and woman to "bring" us into the world, however the woman's womb is the "package" He choses to use to deliver his gifts. It is not the fault of God that parents abuse their kids, or abort them- granted, God knows this is going to happen- however just because something is a gift, some people do not accept that gift, or treat it with respect and some even "get rid of the gift" through abortion- because they decide they want to not be parents.
Just because you were conceived when your parents were under the influence of alcohol- God decided at that moment to give you life. God loves you- and desires you to have a personal relationship with Him through Christ. How is your relationship with your parents now? Remember that you are special to God- or you would not have been conceived in the first place.
In this day and age is seems that instead children being a gift of God, they have become a choice. NO NO NO- you are gift- allow God to use you where you are.

Maybe the people with hard hearts are sent children to soften them and change them....doesn't work sometimes because they choose not to grow.
I was an "accident" and my parent's lives were at times miserable because they didn't choose each other, just did the "right" thing and got married. But at the end there was a love there that was very strong...so maybe I wasn't an "accident" after all and it was God's plan for them to change and grow together.
People with good hearts that can't have children...well there are alot of children on the earth to love and perhaps infertility pushes them in another direction to a child they wouldn't have taken if they could have their own.
We only see half the movie, when we see the whole production someday...maybe it will make more sense.

It sounds like you've figured it out - we are all just here because 2 people had sex. Whether you believe in god or not, I think everyone pretty much agrees that that's how it's done.
If there was a god, and if children really were "gifts from god" would god intervene every time 2 people had drunken sex or teenage sex or sex by rape, and prevent them from conceiving? Or is god really just a sadistic jerk who gets off on that kind of thing?
You have to ask yourself if it's the concept of children being gifts of god that you are having trouble with, or the concept that god is a prick.
I used to be catholic. I kept asking these kind of problematic questions and eventually came to the happy conclusion that it doesn't matter since god doesn't exist. It's OK not to believe.

I believe the statement. We are all here for a purpose, as what I strongly believe. Even though a child may be born to abusive or negligent parents, he/she is still a gift from God because the child can later make all the difference in other people's lives later in life. All people are gifts from God. I think that we are all given the choice to be good or to be bad, and if we are good and use our goodness on earth, we are definitely a gift. No one is a mistake. But then again that is just my opinion......

Lately, I have thought on occasion it seems that everything is wrong. wrong, wrong, everything is wrong. I would rather live in the 8th century or some other more desirable time. When life was static and people depended on each other in utmost simplicity and constancy. A lot people say that the family is under attack. I believe it is destroyed except in rare examples. I mean no one wants to stay with their family, they value going out over family life. This is a modern condition. The results of this is much what you have described.
The bible says God wills everyone to be sanctified from the sin of Adam and eve. I encourage you to sanctified yourself through prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. Learn to despise money. Be detached from the goods of this order. Love the lowly people who need companionship and accept it. Fear God and become wise. Pray for an ardent desire to be holy as you should and desire others to be holier then you. You are call to love as God did. This intense love is the utmost in influence throughout the ages including today. Be a saint but do not desire to be honor like one, which is possible with grace. Let know one say you cannot truly believe. Belief is not reinforcement of the mind, It is a unification with the universal order and the power of such. Love alone. God alone only you have known what we have done we believed. Belief is a transformation of mind by the word of God in the habit of charity. Charity clears all worry and is the perfect act. Keep your hands busy with good works. Get a scrub brush and scrub the floors. Then sing praise to God in chant. Read the lives of the saints and become inspired to live like them. The rosary and eucharstic adoration, and good works is the surest way to sanctity. A second conversion done simply for what it is, is fed by those three I mentioned. A second conversion is the putting on of the "new man" and is best explained in the book called Imitation of Christ. EWTN.com has a web store to by My imitation of Christ. This is the best, rather purest translation I have read on this text. And God Alone, by Montfort publications is the surest text to company you to Christian perfection.
And if anyone threatens your faith with atheism. Ignore it save the treasure to make you, perfectly you. Ask him or her where is your system explained in first principles toward and objective end. And how can this system parallel with creation itself. Currently, I am touching up on a apology to atheism. I am waiting for a few important books to come in the mail. Count on the many saints who prove the power of God. There is at least 10,000 of them. I can say more to prove God fundementally. But it is not needed for now. Chesterton said, the natural without the supernatural is unnatural. Reniforcement of denial of God is not natural for the person. He also said we should not hate humanity. We should love the person. And we should never trust humanity. Jesus I trust in you. I hope God salted you:) J

Props on being blunt and straight up with her man! Nothing sucks more then being led on, that might of simply broken her heart extra. In case your sincere and it appears like it makes things extra complicated, keep on with it, its primary in the end. Fairly honestly, from what i've read it will traditionally be of fine curiosity for you guys to end up pals. A relationship the place any individual pressures the other normally turns out dangerous sooner or later

however parents look on their children, you are a gift to them.but remenber; your most
important relationship is with GOD.
I don't believe the BIBLE simply states
that GOD wants us to marry.
I believe that what is taught is that the
best condition is the single state where we can focus completely on GOD[ and
remember; GOD is in control and HE gives children according to HIS WILL.]
I'll try to find a passage that teaches this and get back to you.

Each person is a gift from God and a step toward the fulfillment of creation. It does not matter what our parents intended.
