I take Percocet, Ativan, and Soma. I have been taking these for so long that they don't work as well anymore. What can I do to make these work better and get me feeling very calm and in no pain?

Having been on some of those medications myself, I suggest sitting down with your doctor and explaining to him how they are not as effective. As far as klonopin, (clonazepam)=generic, is a benzodiazepine, the same as valium is., thus there could be either physical dependence and or psychological dependence. If you have been seeing the same doctor for your condition, and the same person prescribing the meds, they will have the necessary info. to determine if an increase is needed or a change in medication. Remember Pain is now considered the 5th vital sign, and is not to be ignored by doctors.

Water is the best thing. Never milk unless it says to. Milk is a food and can sometimes prevent the medicine from releasing into the blood stream. Also ask your doctor if you maybe need a higher dose as being on meds for so long your body will become immune to them and not work as efficiently.

Just drink more water, and ask your doctor about Klonopin. It's a wonder drug. One or two of your meds aren't working so well is that they're habit-forming. Your body is wanting more. Klonopin is not habit- forming. Do it!! :)

Check with the doctor who prescribed them.
