in order that they do not participate in the use of birth control pills or have an unintended pregnancy? I mean if it's clear they are having sex but, they do not want children and they are not married. Is this a case of the lesser of two evils? To avoid a temptation for abortion? What's your opinion?

Yes, you have told them over and over about sin and it goes in one ear and ou the other. (sign of the times)

I would say yes that it would be alright especially if they are already engaging in pre-marital sex

That is a hard question to answer.

First, NFP is good, but if you use it for the sole purpose of not getting pregnant, it's really no better than contraception. (You're supposed to use it to regulate births; the idea is that you want to have kids, but you don't want one a year until you die, or maybe there are reasons why it wouldn't be a good idea for you to have more than three, or something.) But from what you've said, I don't think these two have any desire to use NFP for the right reasons.

Second, NFP strongly backs marriage. Maybe learning about it would make them consider going about things the right way. Or maybe it would only make them feel justified in doing what they're doing- "we're not using actual contraception, or getting pregnant, or having an abortion, so it's OK that we're having sex." Or maybe they'd just brush it off and not bother looking into it. There's really no way to know.

Honestly, I'd ask a priest about this, because he'll be able to give you an official-Catholic-Church answer. Aside from that, it's up to your discretion.

I personally have a big problem with people supporting people's decision to have out of wedlock sex. It leads to people saying, "well they are going to do it anyway." The culture has generated this whole idea if they are going to do it just help them out and make sure they are safe. They have an aids problem in Africa so just give them condoms, we have to do something . ..

What we have to do is lay down the law, and show them this is not acceptable. The law will forgive them, more even in the CHRISTian law which says be merciful and forgiving. but when taboos begin to break down they want more taboos broken suddenly it is okay to have homosexual marriages, i mean they are doing it anyway and living together why not marry then and then they want to adopt . .. you do see where do you draw the line. ..

Now the counter arguement will be, but we are just talking heterosexuals living together but not wed. Well get married! Or if you aren't then we are back to the mosaic law where a person can just leave and it is like as to a divorce. All wrong.

No, i would instead give them information on how to get married, so that we work to reestablish social taboos on this sort of behavior. Not to persecute them for it, but to restore what was lost. A regard for the dignity of the family.

-LOVE your neighbor as yourself.
Amen.

I'm not Catholic, but I am a women's health professional (a nurse-midwife). I very much wish that there were more NFP instructors who were willing to teach the method to single women. I believe that this basic knowledge about how our reproductive cycle works is something EVERY woman should know, even women who are not sexually active at all. Also, the health benefits of avoiding spermicides or artificial hormones are something that should be an option for all women.

The Church tolerates...theologians admit...theological opinion is... clergymen and laity ought to... What approximately what the Bible says? there isn't something whatsoever in the pages of the Bible that time out that organic relatives making plans is a sin. on the choice, we've the liberty to return to a variety whether we are waiting for marriage or whether we are waiting to have toddlers, and the duty of looking after what toddlers we do have. quit demanding approximately what your church teaches and start up up analyzing what the Bible teaches.

oh my god please tell me you wouldn't seriously try to discourage a couple that is having sex from using birth control if they don't want to have a kid. It's not like you can stop them from having sex- they're already having it. They should definitely be using birth control
