1) How do I know God exists. Because I have gained a testimony over and over again of His existence through the Holy Ghost. I'm sure you don't like that answer...but it is honest.
2) The point is, we are here to learn and grow. To learn to use our bodies (because before we were just spirits and bodies are a new thing for us) so that when we are resurrected...we will know how to use our perfected bodies. And part 2 is that we keep our pass the tests we have been sent here to take so that at judgment we will be able to account for our lives and choices upon the earth.

You know what? I am not religious, and I do know very little about the Bible, but I KNOW that God is out there. I was 24 when I almost died, and I saw myself laying in this hospital bed, eyes wide open, staring up--yet, I am alive and well. I was told that I could not have children, but 7 years later I bore a son. I saw myself walking toward a bright light--saw myself from the back with a hairstyle I did not have back then. All this told me that there is a God out there, and the purpose of life is that we live according to his rules(10 commandments)and that we are ready for our mission in life when we get to it---that is the true purpose of life given to us by God

“Unless you assume a God, the question of life’s purpose is meaningless.” –Bertrand Russell (noted philosopher, mathematician and atheist)
So we know with certainty that without God, life holds no purpose and therefore no point.
If you want real purpose and real meaning and a real point to your life, you have to seek God. There is no other way. Otherwise, you just invent something to live for that gives you some kind of meaningless good feeling.
How do you know for certain that God even exists? You don't, but history testifies that many explorers searched for things that they weren't certain even existed. You hold that God exists and that doesn't mean certainty; but you have to hold that He exists in order to seek Him. And you have to want Him to seek Him. To seek God, to know God, to walk with God, to have fellowship with your Creator; that is the point.
The consequence of failing to seek God is to live a pointless life.

How do you know that God does not exist? That is the question I pose to you. Theirs a 50/50 chance that God exists, or he does not.
Best in my opinion to heir on the side of caution. If there is no God then their are no consequences for not following his teachings.
If there is one, each of us will be held accountable for our refusal to attempt to understand his will.

I have always felt the presence of God since I was a little child. The point of living is being yourself. In all space and time, there is only one of you.

Not if you believe in destiny. Why live a predetermined life? Atheists are fortunate enough not to live with such hang-ups.
