even the shows revolved around music. now its about spoiled girls, couples shows and puffy's endless attempt to make a band.

I know. I stopped watching it around the time "The Grind" started showing. I hated that show. I used to watch music videos all day and got so excited when I'd see a Madonna, Bon Jovi, or Guns and Roses video I'd write it down and tell my brother. Now you have to subscribe to Mtv 2 or 3, 4 ,5 whatever one it's on now in order to see music videos. Even VH1 went downhill. I think it all had to do with the lack of quality music.

I'm 24, so vaguely, yes. I didn't really watch MTV much, although it's too bad Beavis and Butthead are long off the air, along with earlier weird tidbits like Aeon Flux. It used to be exotic, adult and seemingly forbidden to those growing up. Now it's what you say it is, mindless pap for the easily amused.

Yeah, they put BS on there and show videos for people with insomnia. Personally Puffy trying to put a boy band together is a lot similar to his girl band dramas.

You got that right... I haven't watched MTV in years, but few months ago I was trying to watch some music videos and was shocked to discover that they only play reality shows now.
But like the song goes "Reality shows killed the MTV star". :(

Yeah, then they came out with MTV2 so that one channel could be all the trendy crap and the 2nd could still be about music and videos. Then they ruined MTV2 too. It is very hard to turn on MTV and watch music videos. I miss those days.

yeah and vh1 is even worse it started with pop up video and now the only time they show music is like at 3 am so i just quit watching them both
right now i think fuse is the only station that acutally shows music
but thank god for the internet cuz now i watch the music videos I want on youtube

yep, I remember the good ol days when mtv just came out and they played good music videos, i think 24 hours a day, but yea i do remember them when they were better then they are today

Those were the good old days! I can't even stand to watch it anymore! There might be 2 hours a day of videos, and even then it is at insane hours!
