You have an ace up your sleeve that most people don't have when searching for a Father or Mother. Your Ace is your Mother. I'm sure that she remembers his full name, and last known city he lived in. She should also have your birth certificate somewhere. That will give you an idea what hospital you were born in and what town. You can also check with the newspaper archives(on-line) in that city where you were born, and see if your birth announcement was in the paper. That just might give you more information about your Dad. So by now you have his name, age, city where you were born, right. Go on line and check the white pages and see if he has a name listed for a telephone. He may still live in the same city. Also check with your Mom to see if she can remember his parents name. This would help. because you can see if they have a telephone as well. Some telephone books also give the street address as well as the number. You could also check with vital statistics to see if he still lives in the last town on your certificate. Census Bureau can also be checked with to determined if his residence is in that same town. US Postal directory could be checked, as well as the Department of Social Security. You need his social security number to gain that information. Last but not least you can try the Department of Motor Vehicles for the state, if you have all the information can find out his address through them. That's about all I can tell you, the rest is up to you. Good hunting, and I hope you find your Dad. Not to frighten you, but he may not be what you expect, so don't raise your hopes to high. One other thing ask your Mother if he ever paid child support for you over all these years. That information would be a valuable aid in your search. Checks on a bank will tell where he was banking, and most times will have the local bank address on the checks. Well Good Luc, again.

If you have a full name, birth date and with any luck a social security number it is really simple just write a letter and put his name on it then call the social security office (Monday through Friday: 1-800-772-1213) and ask for the address to send it to for locating your dad. They will forward it for you and the rest is up to him. The other option is if you have the name of his parents you can look them up in the phone book send a picture and a letter to them to forward or share with him - again the ball will be in his court but at least you tried and it didn't cost you more than postage. Good Luck!

Perhaps you can start with knowing your father's name. See if you can have that in your birth certificate.
