I have been on and off pain killers for about 6 months...I mean I'll take them for like 8 days...be off them for a week or so...then take them again for like 8 days....I have been doing this for about 6 months. I only take them at night and I take like 7 percocet 5/325 or 750 vicoden es over a period of an hour.
I have since stoped, but I have never had withdraw symptoms....was what I doing considered being addicted?

Because you stopped for over a week and then would use again you were doing the right thing. You are not addicted. In reality this is the best way to use pain medications. When they are used every day their effectiveness lessons.

I don't think so. There is a difference between tolerance and addiction. First of all, the strength of your Percocet isn't very strong by any means, therefore leaving you no choice but to take them in a high quantity. This is also a reason why you don't have any withdrawl symptoms. You're not addicted, you have a high tolerance. A person can't become addicted to painkillers if they are actually taking them for pain. Its when people take prescription narcotics for fun or when they don't have any pain that they run the risk of addiction.

If I recall correctly, max tylenol dose for 24 hr period is 2,000mg, thus with 7 percocets you are already over the 24 hr limit, even worse with the 750's

you have to be very careful when taking that much vicodin at a time, because it has tylenol. Large doses of tylenol can kill your liver so becareful. And yes, taking large doses like that is addictiive behavior. I hope I helped ya out.

i dont think you're "addicted", but you should not take that many at one time. are you doing it for a "buzz" or because you have pain? if to get a buzz, you probably have a problem, if to relieve pain, you need to talk to your dr. and tell them the pills arent working.
