Or do they pick and choose what to follow out of the 10 commandments also ?

Looks like Satan has fooled them into giving up the Laws of God and thereby losing the essence of the covenant with God through Abraham.

"For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. "
Romans 10:4

Christians are not under Law, but under Grace.
They are not subject to the Ten Commandments nor to observance of a sabbath to obtain righteousness with God.

"I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness comes through the Law, then Christ died needlessly."
Galatians 2:21

Excuse me?? The Sabbath has been unchanged since the beginning of time!! The 7th day of the week has not changed nor has it moved!!

The Papacy gave itself the authority to rewrite the ten commandments and dropped the 4th which is to Remember and to keep the Sabbath Day Holy, then changed others until they had 10 again...

combining paganism with Catholicism the papacy changed the day of worship to Sunday....claiming it was to honor the day of Resurrection....

and we are under grace and still under the law.....no one canceled the ten commandments.....

If the day of worship was to change at the cross it would have been mentioned...

The Sabbath has always been observed by Christians...

I had to back up and add some more......where are you people getting your Biblical information from?? How are you to defend God's word if you don't know it yourself??

the ten commandments were not nailed to the cross...sin and death were....the ceremonial laws and sacrificial laws were done away by the cross... Jesus was the perfect Lamb...the 4th commandment is still in effect as are the other 9 commandments!!!

Wow. Talk about your "Pharisaical Legalism" run-amuck!! Get a grip on New Testament theology, would ya?

Here's a few Scriptures to chew on:

Isaiah 1:13 - God begins to reveal His displeasure with the Sabbath.

Matt. 28:1; Mark 16:2,9; John 20:1,19- the Gospel writers purposely reveal Jesus' resurrection and appearances were on Sunday. This is because Sunday had now become the most important day in the life of the Church.

Acts 20:7 - this text shows the apostolic tradition of gathering together to celebrate the Eucharist on Sunday, the "first day of the week." Luke documents the principle worship was on Sunday because this was one of the departures from the Jewish form of worship.

1 Cor. 16:2 - Paul instructs the Corinthians to make contributions to the churches "on the first day of the week," which is Sunday. This is because the primary day of Christian worship is Sunday.

Col. 2:16-17 - Paul teaches that the Sabbath was only a shadow of what was fulfilled in Christ, and says "let no one pass judgment any more over a Sabbath."

2 Thess. 2:15 - we are to hold fast to apostolic tradition, whether it is oral or written. The 2,000 year-old tradition of the Church is that the apostles changed the Sabbath day of worship from Saturday to Sunday.

Heb. 4:8-9 - regarding the day of rest, if Joshua had given rest, God would not later speak of "another day," which is Sunday, the new Sabbath. Sunday is the first day of the week and the first day of the new creation brought about by our Lord's resurrection, which was on Sunday.

Heb. 7:12 - when there is a change in the priesthood, there is a change in the law as well. Because we have a new Priest and a new sacrifice, we also have a new day of worship, which is Sunday.

Rev 1:10 - John specifically points out that he witnesses the heavenly Eucharistic liturgy on Sunday, the Lord's day, the new day of rest in Christ.

Matt. 16:19; 18:18 - whatever the Church binds on earth is bound in heaven. Since the resurrection, Mass has been principally celebrated on Sunday.

Christians have failed in this regard. They teach the strict observance of most of the Commandments and teach others to obey the law. Last year the nation had a national Ten commandments day. It was celebrated by all mainline denominations, but they are all quite when it comes to the Sabbath commandment. God will not be fooled by this obvious ommission by our religious leaders who know better than to pick and choose what they prefer to do. 99% is unacceptable with God. Just ask Adam and Eve. God requires strict obedience. He says in the NT "If you love me keep my Commandments" John 14:15. This my friend also includes the Sabbath Day. We are all called to keep it Holy because God is Holy.

Looks like Satan has fooled them into giving up the Laws of God and thereby losing the essence of the covenant with God through Abraham."

No, Satan tries to bring Christians back under the bondage of trying to be justified in God's sight by keeping the law. 9 of the 10 commandments are still in effect. The Sabbath commandment is not a moral law. It is a law that was pointing to the rest that believers could find from trying to keep all of the sacrificial and ceremonial laws that were pointing to Jesus Christ.

Colossians 2:13 And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, 14 by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross. 15 He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him. 16 Therefore let no one pass judgment on you in questions of food and drink, or with regard to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath. 17 These are a shadow of the things to come, but the substance belongs to Christ.

It's good to rest one day a week, that's why Jesus said the Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. And it's good to trust that God will meet all of your needs so you don't have to work 7 days a week like a slave. But Christians celebrate the Lord's day on Sunday because they want to worship God and learn and fellowship together, not because they have to obey a law given by God. They celebrate the fact that Jesus died and rose from the dead on Sunday and that they no longer have to worry about being justified by the law since they are justified by faith in the sacrifice of Christ.

The Ten Commandment are no longer in effect under the New Testament. They were nailed to the cross of Jesus. The law of Moses has been replaced by the law of faith and grace (read the book of Romans). Christians today do not have to obey the Ten Commandments, although 9 of the 10 are repeated in the NT; only the commandment of the Sabbath is not repeated in the NT. Christians do not have to obey that command.

biginsmall; you clearly have no idea what you are talking about. The bible, in it's entirety, OT and NT, is the law of God, nowhere in the NT, the book of Romans included, are we liberated from the 10 Commandments, or any other of God's laws, except for ceremonial laws, one of which is the 4th commandment.
edit
adam's rib You must be in the same denomination as this other guy. Where anyone gets the idea that God's commandments don't apply because thay happen to be in the OT, is a mystery to me.

All Christians keep the Sabbath-yet I will explain that part, but first
Sunday is not the Sabbath-on Saturday the Jewish people could travel limited, could carry no money for an offering, in Jesus times-thus Sunday the day of the resurrection was given as the day for gathering,=going to Church.
The sabbath was given to the Jewish people-being Friday night to Saturday night--the Jewish laws explain what is to be done and not done. The non Jew was not subject to these laws -only to as Jesus says "Love God with all your heart, and love your fellow man as you love yourself" thus if u do that you dont steal, lie, kill, commit adultry, etc.

Yet as the bible also teaches when one comes to salvation they enter the Sabbath rest for all eternity to come-you are saved-begun eternal life-instead of to die and go to hell for all eternity
and as the priest worked on Saturday doing sacrifices so does the believer-do everything heartily as unto the Lord and not unto man

Jeremiah 31:31 I WILL MAKE A NEW COVENANT NOT LIKE THE ONE I MADE WITH MOSES AND THEY SHALL be my people (EVERY ONE NOT JUST THE HIGH PRIEST once a year as all that believed awaited the coming of the Messiah =) and I shall know them and they all shall know me.

more help if u really desire an answer if not-continue trying to find reasons not to believe-you got to do better than that.

I am raised a Jew and came to know the God of the 10 COMMANDMENTS=

the God of the Bible and his coming as the Messiah as promised to Adam and Eve Genesis 3:15 to crush the evil one. Isaiah 52:13-53:12 He will lay down his life to make atonement for our sins. Isaiah 9:6 to be the child born the son given, mighty God, and the prince of peace.

good question-in Jesus amazing grace, John 3 repented of sin asked Jesus in my heart to be my friend, and got born again

I too am confused about this. The sabbath is officially once a week, generally "Sunday"... I'm not sure why such a small percentage of god-fearing people actually adhere to this commandment.
