It wasn't to bad... But when they got low down by (the crack) it stung a lot but it's a awesome place to get one!!

As others have mentioned, it varies with individual. But typically, upper arm is about the least painful position of all locations to have a tattoo. I've had three there, and i wouldn't even name it ache. Extra like a sort of powerful tickling-scratching strain. It is nothing like the feeling of being stabbed with a needle again and again; that's a fully deceptive evaluation.

I have one centered between my shoulder blades... the bit right over my spine hurt pretty bad (like a tingly, slightly queasy hurt.) But then it's done and the pain's gone... if you want it bad enough it's just a short amount of time to put up with the pain.

my buddy is a tattoo artist and my other bro owns the shop the spine aint **** its kinda like the elbow its more annoying than painful im covered trust me my fingers hurt worse than anything take a pill

spinal tattoos are very painful. not the most painful i have ever had but it definitely rattles the brain. i'm glad that i am done with my spine. i don't think i could do the whole thing in one sitting.

I've heard it's worse than some other places because it's right on top of the bone. I've never had it done though, so I'm not speaking from experience or anything.

Mine didn't hurt, just stung a bit but it was nothing really bad. My brother has loads and still says his elbows were the worst.

its pretty burny - my most painful one yet. and i have four. two on upper arms, one on shoulder. none even came close. but you can handle it i mean you know what you're getting into. its not unbearable.

My husband said it stings more than anything, and its really not that bad.........the elbow, however....ouch!
