This is a response to a question that I read earlier that implied that the LOST, now found Gospel of Judas was of some relevance. It is not! It is Fake. It is Bull!!

There is no more material out there. Judas was hanged, and quartered before he could do a diary.

I agree with you that it is not scripture.
First, I do want to admit that there is some value to the Gospel of Judas and the other Gnostic gospels. They teach us a lot about the theological debates that were going on during the development of Christianity.
I do, however, find some of the reaction to these documents very interesting. I think there are times we have to defer to the people who were living during the times these documents were published. I like to use the Hitler Diaries as a modern day examples. These were published in the early 80's, but were quickly determined to be fakes. But, imagine what happened if a copy of them was dug up a few thousand years from now. They would date to the right century, and there would certainly be those who said that those who determined they were fakes in the 80's were wrong. There are people who will look for conspiracies everywhere, even where they do not exist.

Ok I'm not really up on on religion. But if the "Lost Gospel of Judas " is a fake how do you know its a fake?
If you cant find the damned thing to start with how can it be proven to be faked.
Am I missing something here?
Please enlighten me

I did not know that. But, then, I did not know it was lost either. As a matter of fact, I did not know it even existed. Are you sure it did? Are you saying that the LGJ is a fake that was lost or are you saying that the existence of the LGJ is a fake. Did someone lose Judas? He should be hanging around somewhere.

The four gospels that remain in the modern day bible were only part of a collection of many. Medieval church leaders felt they portrayed the image they wanted and so discarded all the others.
Jeffery Archer has recently written a 'gospel' according to Judas; how fitting

There were many manuscrips that had to be judged before the bible could be put together. A lot of them were just the writings of overzealous people wanting to put ideas on paper. The canonization process weeded out the fakes and the flakes. Even the apocryphal books are questionable. They are included in the catholic bible but were never canonized. It is the reason the priests didn't want people reading the bible for themselves. It is amazing how much ancient material is out there.

do you have evidence or are you stating an unsubstantiated fact?
It may as well join the fake club on scripture, as everything else is too then. It might be ridiculed as if it was proven there would be questions asked, likewise the gospel of Thomas, disregarded. There were too many gospels to put everything in the Bible, so it went in order of regarding the males, that is probably why it is so disbelieved to this day

The Disciples hung and quartered Judas - their Gospels covered up their betrayal to Jesus, until now.

The Canonical gospels were penned by the hands of men. They were written many years after the events they describe, so the "truth" of all the gospels is debatable.
The Canonical gospels were chosen by men. Men wrote them and men chose which ones got into the bible and which ones didn't.
