Help - my family thinks I'm unhealthy because I don't do things normal people in their twenties do - I don't like to sit down for heavy meals with my family, and I don't like to tan. My grandmother has become worried because I don't tan (I look too pale for her) and I "don't eat" (I eat about 5-6 small meals a day - usually consisting of oats, nuts, raw fruits and veggies, good carbohydrates (like brown rice) and fish). She says I'm going to get sick. I also work out every day (I run about 3-4 miles per day, and I'm trying to include yoga or pilates into my daily routine). How can I convince them my lifestyle is healthy?

The doctor knows it all. just ask for a check up and the doctor will know if your healthy or not.

Maybe a few minutes in the sun to get those viatmins would make you less pale, spend some time doing your yoga outside, no need to lay out and tan just by being outside you get some good healthy sun glow. Take some vitamins too!
Also maybe you can find a "diet" online according to what you eat now and see if theres something important you might be missing.
Granny's will always think your not just the way you should be! BUT they smoked and drank while pregnant too lol!

I was com fronted with the same problem with my family when i decided to lose weight. I am now at my lightest and my family are thinking i look bad/to thin. It hurt my feelings at first. But after thinking about it.
I want to be healthy since "I" am the only one that will do it. So i explained to my family that i have a different outlook on life since i found something that makes me happy... taking care of me and being healthy. Be proud of yourself if this fall same for you.
Are you dealing with a weight issue.?
Good luck

First off, kudos to you for being able to do all that stuff. I try (emphasis on try) to stay healthy but unfortunately my attempts to exercise and eat right consistently usually fall way short.
My advice to you is to just keep on doing what you're doing. You're obviously not going to conform to what they want you to do, right? In my experience, the best way to show someone a better way is to live it. It sounds like you are doing just that. Who knows...maybe they won't change their minds but at least you'll be healthy while trying to convince them otherwise.

U have structure, order, a good solid diet, a smooth effctive workout plan. Ur in the right. U shud b an example.
Maybe they look @ ur lifestyle as a bit harsh tho. No one in ur family runs 3-4 milez a day, so thats y they see it as weird.

You can't convince anyone of ANYTHING- if they don't want to be. Sounds like you live a pretty healthy lifestyle- to ME. Let your good health- do the talking. And YOU just keep eating right, working out, & staying out of the sun. :)

Not to judge, but maybe your family are the ones that aren't healthy. You sound like a very healthy person to me, keep up the good work.
