this is basically crushed up bottles. You may even be able to get it free!

my last project they gave me 100 tons

there is quite a bit of technical data out there for the properties,
but it is great,

free draining, wont load up
great for wall backfill
can be compacted

It is generally a mixture of sand and crushed rock.

Companies that sell landscaping rock and materials actually sell pre-mixed fill material to exact specifications.

Your local city/county/parish ordinances will sometimes specify the exact type and amount of fill material required for a given type of construction.

Hm-mm ... makes me wonder what that new stealth thing is that Lockeed is playing around with in the old big Air-dock at Akron international. Is that really a delta or a triangle like thing.

It depends on what is locally available. In my area we use crushed limestone. I would recommend a CA-6 gradation.
