I hate spiders , i really hate them but i wouldn't want to eliminate them from the planet , because they kill the buzzy little flys that annoy the sh!t out of most of us . the general consensus is that wasps should be destroyed and i have to agree , afew years back i was on holiday with some mates , and we hired some scooters to muck about on the island (kos ) and while hurtling along at about 50 mph a bloody wasp stung me and attached its self to my arm so i was hanging on with one arm and waving the other one about like a nutter lol I'm sure people must have thought i was completely mad haha , while were on the subject could i possible cheat and have two choices coz midges really do my head in lol gr8 question pups xxxx

Gosh I hate:
1. fleas
2. ticks
3. lice
4. mosquitoes
5. cockroaches
6. flies

They are all disease spreading, but flies are necessary for decomposing waste. I cant think of any use for the other pests, but if i have to choose ONE...it would be mosquitos!

Mosquitos are spreading the west nile virus right now and this affects my life on a daily basis. Many west nile cases have been reported in my city, and my backyard is full of mosquitos. I am in constant fear my family will contract the virus. Everyday the mosquitos get into my home and I have to go around trying to kill all of them, believe me I look silly!

Unfortunately, when you eliminate something from the bottom of the food chain it affects every creature(humans included) that are higher up on the food chain. On the other hand if you eliminated humans it would be business as usual for the rest of life on the planet. Just imagine if you will, the impact that removing dung beetles from the food chain. We'd be knee-high in animal feces. Love em' or hate em', insects were here before us and they'll be here long after we're gone.

The wasp and mosquito have a function on the planet, and are part of the chain. The one I can't figure out, and don't like, are wood ticks. They're irritating, painful, and everywhere (I live in Minnesota). And from the research I've done, ticks just don't fit. Nothing actively preys on them, they're not part of the food chain, and they do not benefit nature. They're here only to make more ticks. That's the one critter I would wish away.

I would eliminate the engraver beetle or "bark" beetle. These insects are destroying the trees in the forest areas of Arizona. I was camping last week in Payson, AZ, and saw the amount of damage these little critters are doing. The amount of trees the have killed equaled more than the worst forest fire in AZ.

Rather than kill a bug for looking nasty I would do it for the damage this bug is causing...other than that, i would eliminate roaches, I cant stand those filthy monkeys! I would go toe to toe with a black widow but I wont touch a cockroach!

MOSQUITO'S!!!! If there are 20 people with me and one lousy mosquito I will get bit 20 times!! I hate those things and they carry all kinds of disease. The bites swell up to the size of a quarter and they itch for days and days. I HATE Mosquito's (watch tonight I'll get bit over and over by some YA readin' Mosquito :)

As much as I HATE Spiders! I am the world's worst with arachnophobia! I would have to choose the mosquito! Diseases, heart worms, and just a plain pain in the ***.
