It all depends on what you are looking for in a base and what you are comfortable with. We LOVED Germany... lived there for a total of 10 years at 3 different bases, and would go back in a heart beat. I love the German culture, the travel that was available, the food, the people, everything. Also, lots of nature and hiking! Personally, I liked Spangdahlem the best... out in the country, close to Netherlands, Lux, Bel, and France. Ramstein is too much like little America.
If you don't want to deal with a language barrier, then there is England. Handful of bases, depending on career field. Still lots of travel opportunities, but the same (almost) language. Cost of living is very high, and some people come over expecting too many things to be like the US. It does rain a lot and is overcast quite a bit.
Aviano - while we've never been stationed there, friends who enjoy hiking and skiing loved it! About an hour from Venice. Lots of shopping! Weather is much better than Germany and England! True 4 seasons!
Belgium - awesome place. Deal more with NATO, though. And you have even less access to anything American. Same in the Netherlands.
The Pacific - never been stationed, but I have friends who loved it. Okinawa was probably the most favorite place. Tropical, beaches, scuba diving, swimming, etc. But, lots of Marines around. And, it is a small island. Misawa was also enjoyed... my friend loved winter, so it was great for them.
The only people who have truely hated living overseas are those that either didn't get out and travel and stayed on base the entire time, or they moaned and groaned about how it was NOT the US and there was no Walmart and no mall and their favorite restaurant chain wasn't there..... You get the idea. They should have never left the US!
Just keep your mind open and be ready to make every base your favorite base while you are there!

My husband, who joined the air force when he was 19, is now stationed in Ramstein, Germany. He loves it..and where we are there is no danger. Most of the time troops have to deploy for 4-6 months, but really they aren't in any danger. The Army and Marines are the ones who are doing the shooting over there. Air Force helps to maintain the bases that troops are deployed to. Basic training is not that difficult, and then he has to go to tec school for a few months depending on what job he gets. Some people sign up for 4 years, or 6 years. If you sign up for six you get an stripe for rank, which also gives you more money in your pay check. I know its probably really scary for you, but it is a really good experience to get out on his own and see the world, or just the US.

Anywhere but alaska. although it's kinda cool to see moose every day... and live in north pole across from santa clause's house.....
soooo not worth it in the winter though. Got to -58 degrees this winter, and supposedly it was a "good" winter.

Dad says that you can tell what time of day it is by the food that's being served, he spent many lay overs there while flying.
