No. They do not charge you. The only fees you will have to pay are the ones that someone would charge you for doing your taxes. But why do that? I use Turbotax, its free.

Try not to have the government withhold too much over what they need to because you are basically giving them a loan. Keep that money in your own pocket and invest it (money market accounts are great short term savings). This way YOU will be banking of the interest.!

Nope! Some people like a little extra to be withheld. Come tax time, it;s a nice refund and they use it for a vacation or some other expenses.

But why would you want to withhold too much? You are essentially giving the government an interest free loan. Why give them free use of your money for the year? Remember, if you underpay your taxes by a significant amount the IRS will charge you interest + penalties.

No, they just refund the extra when you file your taxes. And they don't say thank you, either, for giving them the interest-free loan.
