ok, it might just be that i grew up in a small town, but a friend said that women feel more comfortable with women doing the job. is that true?? im a guy, and i like science and helping people. i know that no matter where i work i will probaly do OB/GYN exams. i really want to do this. whut do u think on the matter???

oh, and another thing. do rad. techs help docters with diagnosis, like giving advice to radiologists (for example, if i think that they have a tumor, can i tell a doctor??)

Many women also feel comfortable with a female gynecologist, but there are still a whole lot of men doing it. If it's what you want to do, I say go for it.

Rad techs do not diagnose or tell a patient or ordering physician anything whatsoever. That is outside of our scope of practice, but there is nothing wrong with discussing a case with the radiologist only. On the other hand, in ultrasound, the radiologist depends very much on what the sonographer finds and reports back.
