In all honesty, how has Junior's move to HMS affected your dedication? Will your loyalty waver or will you stick with him regardless?

What inspiring answers. I have to admit... it's taken me awhile to start coming out of my acute depression over the move, but I'm recovering.
Crunch... you are indeed a diehard.
Mike 24... how typical.

Was, am, and always will be a Junior fan. He could drive a pink Toyota and he'd still be my guy.

O.K. I wasn't going to post an answer because I haven't been a Dale Jr fan but I WILL be because of him going to HMS. I didn't hate him either but I figured he had enough fans. Kyle Busch has been the ONLY driver I haven't supported at Hendrick Motorsports and I think Dale Jr will be a much better teammate. He's much more of a stand up guy and doesn't cause all the wrecks that Kyle does. I do think the real fans that understand the Earnhardt/Gordon dynamic will be totally fine with the move. It's probably more the fringe fan that doesn't know the history and realtionships of Jeff with Dale Sr and of even the Earnhardt and Hendrick families themselves.

Not at all, I don't really have a problem with any driver at HMS(well ok Johnson but still). Yes I'll give the fact that Gordon can be a whiner sometimes(actually compared to Smoke he's pretty quiet), but yes he can drive a car. Johnson is too robotic for my tastes but again a good driver. Mears no problem there either. Jr just went with the team that gives him the best shot at winning. Besides the family history at HMS goes back a long time, Jr's maternal grandfather was like one of HMS's first employees and Sr. won the first race in the Busch series for HMS too.

I was a Dale Sr. fan and that is pretty much how I became a Jr. fan. And I am or was a DEI fan. If anything no I don't have the love for the DEI stable anymore I think his stepmother made a mistake by not meeting him with a reasonable settlement. True she may have and we don't know this or I don't.
I think he went to HMS because they seem to work pretty good as a team and let face it Jr love the big tracks and HMS has the handle on them now and for that matter every other track too. I'm not changing into a Gordon, Johnson fan though.
I will always be his fan no matter where he races or who his sponsor is and hope to see him drive the 3 car for RCR some day. I think that would make his daddy a proud happy soul.

It's too bad thing couldn't have worked out at DEI, but you know what, sh*t happens and life's not always fair so you move on. He did what he had to do and I respect him even more for that.
I don't think it will effect loyal Jr fans as much as people believe. I am and will always be a loyal Jr fan regardless of which team, sponsor, number he drives or drives for.
Jr is the man plain and simple and has proved that in the past by is talent and success.
Kudos David B. for directing this question to Jr. FANS.

I'm obviously disappointed by his choice because he is now taking a backseat to Jeff Gordon and Jimmy Johnson at HMS instead of being the anchor elsewhere. While HMS can build the kind of car he wants to make him a winner I doubt he'll ever get what Jeff and Jimmie are getting there. I think the decision ends up being kind of a cop out. He deserves to be the top dog not someone else's whipping boy. Hopefully he won't take on the HMS attitude....arrogant.

He could drive the Dupont sponsored 24 car and it would make no difference to me....as long as he doesn't change his name to Gordon, I'm cool with whatever he does and wherever he goes.
No different than when his Father changed car makes, car #'s, sponsors and owners. You see, I liked Osterlund OK as he gave Earnhardt his first full-time ride. I wasn't too sure of Childress the first go round. Since I liked the Holman-Moody drivers better than the Wood Brothers, I wasn't to happy to see Earnhardt go there but I pulled for him anyway. I grew up a Ford fan but was on board as an Earnhardt fan before he ever ran his first Cup race and from that moment on, even the car no longer mattered.
So for Dale the younger, he could drive a Skittles sponsored Toyota, take on the nickname "Sally" and go winless the rest of his career.....I would still be a fan.
About the only thing that would matter to me is if I found out he voted for Ralph Nader. Anybody slightly to the right of Nader would be OK............maybe!
As a side note, I never liked Earnhardt's teammate Skinner, so no new ground there either.

I was always a Dale Sr fan. Since his death I have spread my enthusiasm over several drivers. Harvick, J Burton, Jr and Mark Martin. I like Jr because of his accomplishments and growth since his father died. I see this move as him maturing and driving on his own terms. I guess I'm a rare Jr fan who likes him among others and really have no organizations or drivers I despise other than those who are wreckless to the point of affecting others.

I was getting frustrated with Jr anyway. His not winning nor contending for championships makes me wonder about him. If he can't do it with Hendrick I guess he proves that he isn't all that good after all! I really hope Kyle Busch gets in the #8 DEI car. We'll really find out if it is the car or the driver then! HOW ABOUT JR. IN A PEPSI CAR! MAY BE HAPPENING!

I'll keep it short because the regulars on here have heard from me why I'm a Jr fan plenty of times.
His move hasn't changed my loyalty in any way.

In all HONESTY.......
My dedication to the Earnhardts Sr. & Jr. has never wavered and never will. A ~true~ fan will support their driver through whatever changes he makes in his career.
It was his decision and he did what he was comfortable with...if it's the right thing for ~him~ then a ~true~ fan will stick by him and support him.
Go...Junior! FREE THE EIGHT!
Boogity..Boogity..Boogity
Let's Go Racin...CHEVY Racin!
