I have a better idea. For every immigrantwe let in, we strip the citizenship from one proven bigot/racist and deport them. That would improve the national gene pool and keep from having a labor surplus.
And, while we're at it, reclassify the Minutemen and the KKK to what they really are: domestic terrorist organizations-and start prosecuting them.

Absolutely not.
There are a lot of people on this planet who NEED the protection and opportunities that immigration to the US would provide them - and a lot of those people who admire and respect the US and its culture would love nothing more than the opportunity to assimilate, learn English, respect others in their community, pay taxes - become Americans - and do it 100% legally. THOSE are the immigrants we want.
What we don't want are the hordes of illegals who couldn't care less about the US, are jealous and hateful of Americans and are only here to make a grab for our resources.
We cannot let these hateful illegals displace decent law-abiding immigrants who would contribute to our society.

No, Immigration is important to the way of life here.
What we need to do is arrest, detain and deport anyone who either comes into this country illegally or overstays their Visa.
This is the Melting pot, we welcome people from around the world, but we need to know a bit about them BEFORE they get here, Do they have a contagious disease?
Are they coming here with Bad Intentions?
and many more questions.
Many great contributions to this country have been made by Immigrants, but NONE have been made by Illegal Aliens.
Update:
I see the phrase " we are all immigrants here" on this board every day, that is untrue!
we may all be descendant from immigrants but unless you were born elsewhere and went through the immigration process your not an immigrant please stop saying you are!

Absolutely not, America does need Immigration - arguably, more legal immigration than is currently allowed - it's just illegal immigration that needs to be curbed.

No...why should they. It's ridiculous that so many people are against illegal immigrants when in all reality their ancestors were the same...the only difference is that no one was being a prejudice and ignorant towards them.

No. We should do what we've been doing all along. Allow a certain number of people per year to enter the country. We need to stop illegal immigration, though.

But who will do the work?
Enforce the current laws and deport all those in violation... That includes illegals from Europe, but everyone seems to be afraid of only the brown-skinned illegals.
Legal immigrants should still be welcomed.

Yes, i believe we should, at least for a given time period of say, 10 years. Hopefully in that time, we can fix the issue that we are facing now. We need to fix our country from the inside out. Once we stabalize our faltering country, we can than allow outside influences to again re-enter our country and do it the right way.
