Smile at the person sweetly and say:
THAT'S PERSONAL!!
Then change the subject.

It depends on how close you are. If my oldest friends asked, I'd probably tell because I know them well enough to trust them. I imagine though you haven't known this person 20 years. If you feel the question is rude and your friends don't know that you would think that, they obviously don't know you as well as they think they do. You're never obligated to tell anyone anything about your personal life that makes you feel uncomfortable. You should tell them that you feel the question is rude if that's how you really feel.
Its not uncommon for friends to share that kind of information but it is by no means necessary for friendship.

I think that ur friend expects you to tell them everything that is going on in your life..including anything personal..isn't that what friends are for? To tell your deepest darkest secrets to? I think that yes..it may have been a little appalling...but i think u also did the right thing. It does depend on how close u were. I still think u did the right thing. U had the right reaction b/c it seemed to bother you.

Since so many people don't have a problem talking about their sex lives, this person probably didn't think they were being rude. Just tell them that it's none of their business.

It's rude of someone to ask. I would probably say something like this: "Do you always ask highly personal questions that are none of your business?"

As for me if one of my friends asked me that I would shock the crap outta then and make up a real big fat story, Yeah we did it and he handcuffed me and we slept in a dungeon and he called me a Goddess, You would not believe how kinky he really is and how much I adore him...

you say "a gentleman/lady never tells"
people are curious. they'll only ask questions that they think you'll answer. you probably gave signals that you wanted that question asked.
