What happened to the dog you will have for five days? If you are dogsitting for someone you will get a feel for what it will be like to own a dog. However, I have to tell you, since you have mentioned repeatedly that you don't have money to keep a dog for five days....
How will you be able to afford any pet? Pets cost money.

hamsters are pretty cool. easy to take care of. just clean their cage once a week(like every sunday/saturday), then other than that you can let it out of it's cage in those little clear ball things. but if you want more fun with a pet, then a hamster wouldn't be a very "fun" pet. i just have one because it suits my lifestyle. cats grow older and become more independent than when they're a kitten. dogs are always fun mostly. but they may be too hard to take care of--depending on the dog. reptiles are of course cool too--like a hamster. i would suggest birds though...and i think that's it....haha :DDD

Yes. If you or your mom are rat-haters (and if you are, screw you) you may not believe me. But I swear, if there is any pet better than a dog or a cat it is a rat. They are intelligent, cleaner than humans, easy to maintain, and do not smell if their cage is cleaned once a week. Another animal that is better than a dog or cat is a horse. They are smar, fast, strong, and do not smell bad if cleaned regularily. Good luck.

ok i have both, and if you want an animal that is loving and loves to lay around and hardly any trouble then a cat is what you want, but if you have the time and patence then a dog is what you want, its all up to you. take into concideration your home and valubles. both are wanderful pets and depending on the size of the dog can be very fun to have!

fish the easiest pet to have.
birds (messy though)(tell me about it i have only 2 perakeets and they make a mess throwing their food out through the cage)
go to a pet shop and look around
CATs arent that hard to take care of and plus they are very clean unlike dogs (i love dogs more than cats though i have a rotweiler)(huge dog)

Dogs are more social but carry a bigger responsibility. cats really just hide all day and aren't always sociable.
Other than them no other animal is that fun to have.

There's nothing better than a bird, especially one who talks. They don't just repeat words, they understand them and make new combinations. The trouble is, they're very expensive, require as much attention as a child, and live longer than people. If you get a parrot, for example, you need to make provisions for it in your will, since they can live more than 100 years.

It depends on what you want out of your pet. Fish, reptiles are good for looking at. Horses and ponies are for riding. Birds are for deaf people. Rabbits are for cuddling. Rodents are for looks and occasionally petting and watching. They're all great pets.

First you have to devine exactly what you want out of the pet. Then match that to the species, then the breed.
