Well, it really depends on their genes. What I usually see on average at work (I'm a vet tech) is anywhere from 12 to 16. I'd say about 14 is average.
The one that lived to be 22 must have had some AWESOME genes. That's old for any breed of dog.

I grew up with a yellow lab who had epilepsy. Her lifespan was shortened to 7 years, but she lived for 13. I think the "maximum" is 14 or so, because the vet said her new lifespan was only half of what it should be. They are way more clever than they seem and far heartier than most dogs. Watch out for what you leave on your counters.

22, that is absolutely amazing! It would be awesome for a cat, but a large dog....
10 years is a good age for a lab retriever. I don't think I've met one older than 15.

this isn,t meant to be funny but they live till they die all breeds vary on longevity but in your case and most medium to large breeds its normally around 10 years old had rotties and all the books will tell you 10 years but i,ve had a fourteen year old and a twelve year old as well as the usual tens so just hope for a long life thats all anyone can do

Usually they only live to 15 but if well cared for they can live for a longer time.

7 to 14 years is typical. The bigger, and more obese, the shorter the lifespan. It will depend on genetics, feeding , care, and a little luck
