I got my cat from an animal shelter. she was in heat and they spaid her anyway. today, two days after surgery, she had a bloody, mucusy vaginal discharge. what could it be? what should i do? PLEASE HELP. (if this dusnt work we WILL go to a vet but if its nothing to worry about then we will probly go ne way but we will be less worried.) thanks

I can see you're very upset. Don't worry...some vaginal discharge like that is normal after a spay. Most of the time the cat cleans it up herself and the owners never see it, but it does usually occur.

As long as it is pinkish, it isn't anything to worry about and will stop on its own in a day or two.

If it is really bloody, or a heavy discharge, or it looks like it is infected, call your vet or take her back in.

I don't know but that doesn't sound good. I would at least call the vet & ask them. They should tell you whether you need to bring her in or if its something that will be ok. I hope everything is ok!

Even if you get a good answer here, you should go to a vet. There's a limit to what you can do with advice from anonymous amateurs.

Call the vet's office and ask the vet. That should be your most accurate answer.

She needs to see the vet. There may be an infection or haemorage. Blood after spay is not normal.

Not sure, common sense tells me you should take your cat the the nearest Vet just to be on the safe side. good luck.
