i start at four weeks can food-then i let the mother eat the rest and clean up the pups. then i take them off moms **** at 7 weeks.
until house training then -First thing you have to do with a dog is us the same dry food. Dry food is the best because it cleans there teeth and it is not full of water. Until house broke, the dog should only be feed once a day at the same time every day. Walk the dog after you feed it. And I mean walk do not just stand there. Then walk him again a half hour after that. You should walk him as many times a day as you can until house broke. Walking helps it pass the food. Walk it in the same place every day. When they smell there own potty it makes them have to go. When the dog goes in the house, clean it up with vinegar. This does 2 things kills the smell+vinegar has a urine bass smell and the dog thinks you r marking this as your turf. When the dog goes in the house put the potty outside where you want it to go. Remember smelling his potty makes him want to go. So no potty smell in the house but lots of potty smell outside. You should have a pin or create just big enough for him to lie down. Most dog will not potty where they lay. Do not put anything in the pin that will soak up pee. When you are not watching your dog, he should be in the pin. If he goes in the house, you should catch him in the act and grab him and yell no then take him outside. Clean it up and take the potty outside. So to rap this up. Walk him as much as you can tell him good boy when he goes outside. When your not watching him keep him it the pin. When he goes inside tell him bad boy and take him outside..

when I breed my rotties, I start the pups on small amounts of canned food at 4 weeks. I mash the food up real good with a little warm water and spoon feed the pups for the first week. After that they can eat without my assistance, and I start adding dry puppy chow at 6 weeks. This may differ for smaller dogs, but I always have very healthy rottie pups.

I always start at 4 weeks I get purina puppy chow and moisten it to alike soup and give to them. I find it easiest to let mom feed them before bed and tehn remove her from teh pups for the night. First thing in the morning give them teh moistened food leave it down for about 10 minutes( you may need to put their litle mouths in it or put some on your finger and put in their mouth.
at 5 weeks make it a little thicker,6 weeks moist but add a little dry to it. Also at 6 start leaving water down.
At 7 weeks try just solid food they should be eating solid food at 8 weeks and ready to go to new homes.
At 6 weeks they are old enough for shots.
Good Luck

Umm, yah ya wanna feed it because if you don't, IT'LL DIE duh!! Naw im kiddin' well you should pull it away from it's mother at 1 1/2 months i think. Then get it on a schedule feed it once in the morning and again at ightbut dontleave the fod down! And umm, oh yah what you want to buy is a dog food where the first ingedient is Maet it is better for the pp. and if you have a smll breed get the food for a small breed ans visa versa fora medium or large breeed! IAMS is the best fod my dog is on it! and treats are great for training and connections just dont spoil them!! And one more thing...always put their fod in the same spot so tha they get familiar with where their things are and dont get confused!! rust me I did a packet of research for my pruebred Goldie and i hope i saved you some time. Well hope that helped!! Oh yah and try not to give the doggie table food (i know those puppy eyes are tempting) But if you must give them human food...dont give it to them while you are eating or sitting at the table! they'll start to think that it is ok to beg when itis not!! And Dont give them chicken bones or really small easy-to-break-bones! Steak bones and prk chop but not Kalbee! OK well have fun with your pet!! Peace Out!!

As soon as they start wandering around, you should put some out. Their mother will start to teach them how to eat then.
