I have been thinking about putting a banner across the top of my windshield that says "No Insurance" (sort of my way of saying "I think I have the right-of-way, pal!) My question is this....if I do, how would the police take it - as the joke it is, or will I be pulled over every two blocks?

It wouldn't cover the whole windshield....it would be two or three inch letters along the top edge.

Its a violation in CA. I'd pull you over, hear the story then laugh with you. "Have a nice day!"

If it's on the windshield, it be considered obstruction to drivers view. If it's above the windshield, it could constitute an unsafe motor vehicle.

Even if the sign is not a violation on its own, anytime an officer has discretion in dealing with you, they are likely to lean toward issuing a citation.
