No comment, but I do have a question? What is a knockout? If he's talking about ball joints then I can understand that because it would be a waste of time if the ball joints are bad. Call him up and have him explain what a knockout is and/or talk to another mechanic.

God no one knows what a knock out is?

When your explorer was built in 1995, the factory pretty much knows the alignment and to make it easier on the factory guys, they put little pieces of metal in the slots used to align the vehicle to get the alignment to specs easier when being built...

Well 100k miles or so down the road, the suspension is worn to the point that that factory alignment is no longer right... So the technicain has to remove those "knock outs" and install alignment cams.. or basically think of it as before being stuck in one place and not being able to move, whereas the cams allow me to move around better and allow me to get to my best position.

The knock outs are pulled out when changing tire sizes or when suspension normally wears and can't be set to that factory position anymore normally....

But that is what knock outs are...

maybe a knuckle or lockout but knockouts i'm confused.maybe he said you are a knockout.. Best bet is the dealership . they cant charge more than any other repair shop in town otherwise they'd get no business. usually 75-100 bucks for alignment unless parts are necc.
