You make it too easy. Which of the 2 sets of ten commandments given to us by Moses is the correct one? The first set is listed in Exodus 20:1-17 and the second set is listed in Exodus 34:12-26. They are not the same, even though according to the story they are. which is the right one?

The rocks in the box that GOD wrote and gave to Moses...these are in the Torah..the Five books of Moses...the Old Testament...
we are under the new covenant and the old covenant was nailed to the cross...
The health and dietary laws are unchanged since they are not really laws but plain common sense...unclean is still unclean, etc....
many of those 603 etc. are just plain common sense, a concept of which "man" has a serious difficulty with.....
The Hebrew and the protestant version are the same ones in the book of Exodus...
The catholic church gave itself the authority to drop the 4th and rewrite a couple others to still have 10....
And these are GOD'S ten commandments...not ten suggestions....

Congressman Lynn Westmoreland co-sponsored a bill to get the ten commandments displayed in Congress, and on the Colbert Report he could only name three (see link below). And those were "don't murder, don't lie and don't steal". In other words, they were only Noahite laws, in fact laws so trivial hardly any society would ever disagree with them. Many of the other commandments are much more sectarian and indeed different among the different abrahamic religions.
But it seems God had some trouble coming up with them in the first place as well:

The mode of listing of the 10 Words makesno difference, but the interpretation of the Words does a great deal.
Gentiles are not under the specifically Jewish parts of the 613 Mitzvot and never were.

Why do you address this to Catholics and Protestants? I am a Non-Denominational Christian. I am NOT a Catholic or a Protestant. They are not following GOD's WORD as I am able to read it. Why do you believe that the Command "Thou Shall Not Kill" is a translation error? I see nothing wrong in this translation. Where do you see it and How do you read it?? Thanks, Eds

Ummm, the 10 that were given to Moses by God? Are you confusing laws with commandments? Other than that, it beats me. I'll just go with the 10 I was taught and were mentioned by Jesus. You do what you gotta do. Good luck.

Jesus didnt end the ten commandments, he just allows us to make mistakes. All the laws are still in force, but through Jesus we are accepted into heaven, flaws and all.

Those who want them posted everywhere want the protestant version, make no mistake.
Jews and Catholics are happy to believe without pushing their faith onto everyone else.
