A sin is a sin. It will always be a sin in the eyes of God right? Getting a divorce was a sin to Catholics, but now it isn't if you pay some money and take a class. This is just one example from one religion.

If you change the way God thinks to suit your own needs, aren't you proving that he does not exist? That he is merely the tool of men to control the masses?

God is timeless, it SHOULD be man that changes, not God.

Imagine the people who believe such things and who are not ashamed to ignore, totally, all the patient findings of thinking minds through all the centuries since the Bible was written. And it is these ignorant people, the most uneducated, the most unimaginative, the most unthinking among us, who would make themselves the guides and leaders of us all; who would force their feeble and childish beliefs on us; who would invade our schools and libraries and homes. I personally resent it bitterly.
— Isaac Asimov

One and all, religions have their original prophets, their sacred books, their traditions of ages gone. One and all require us to accept without question what other people long dead have said or written; to obey without question the commands of those behind us.... No matter what the belief, if it had modestly said, "This is our best thought, go on, think farther!" then we could have smoothly outgrown our early errors and long since have developed a religion such as would have kept pace with an advancing world. But we were made to believe and not allowed to think. We were told to obey, rather than to experiment and investigate.
— Charlotte Perkins Gilman

Men think epilepsy divine, merely because they do not understand it. But if they called everything divine which they do not understand, why, there would be no end of divine things.
— Hippocrates; (ca. 460-377 B.C.E.),

It is a simple to your question. If a denomination has to change it's doctrine to keep up with the times, then it means they are not following the Bible. The Bible is timeless, it contains the mind of God, the state of man, and the way of salvation. The Bible is to be read for what it means, and not reinterpret, retranslated, rephrased, or anything. God gave us the Bible not the roman catholic church and God's word trumps mens traditions.

You are correct sin is sin to God and there are not different levels of sin, that is a catholic tradition only. Getting a divorce is still a sin UNLESS it is done because your spouse is maritally unfaithful to you. Jesus said that was the ONLY reason you could divorce.

For your last question please refer to the top of the page to my first answer. No God is not a way to control the masses.

God Bless,
Chris

Divorce and remarriage is still a sin for Catholics. An annulment is a statement (not infallible, however) that there was never a marriage to begin with. To get married after an annulment is strictly on an at-your-own-risk basis, as the tribunal may have been mistaken, and you may indeed be married.

If people change how closely they follow the rules, however, this does not say anything about whether the rules themselves have changed. They do not, and will not.

False religion may do that and it means they dont have God. Real christians do not comform to this world for any reason. We only conform to the word of God in obedience and love. God tells us He never changes. What was sin years ago is still sin . never changes
Yes what was sin years ago still is now absolutely But the devil has just creeped his way into so many churches as well as to the world and now most churches have a anything goes philosphy, but thats not of God and not true Chrsitianity. Being Christian, means being a follower of Jesus, living like HIm, speaking like Him...... and when we say we are Chrsitain and dont follow the full word of God, we are only fooling ourselves by the lies of the devil. Grace will not cover deliberate willful continue sin. God forbid.
We are to surrender our will to His daily. ITs not abouto you orme, its only about God, and He never changes. Men use God to get by with murder, they will beat their wives and kids in the name of God. BUt, none of that is God, its only men pretending.
Those that are of God will obey. PERIOD, and will be the same yesterday , today and tomorrow, except be growing in the faith and becoming more like JEsus.
amen

Just means that Religion is of Satan & Man, both of which will do whatever necessary to "Entice" people away from God!!! The Catholic church is perhaps the worst of all, not just giving U the "Religion" U "Pay For" but FAR WORSE!!! John

Nah.
It only shows that religion is religion, period.
It's got nothing to do at all with whether God is or is not.
Peter denied Christ, even after he saw all those miracles Christ did.
His disciples doubted His powers, even when they saw him feed thousands with just a few fish and a few loaves of bread.
Thomas would not believe He rose.
Men are weak sinners.
Sometimes the mouth gets opened too quick.

It doesn't prove that God doesn't exist. There's no way to prove that ANYTHING doesn't exist.
But it does prove that religion is nothing more a man-made sham. One that the faithful want to believe so desperately that they don't even question the ridiculously obvious deceit of the church.

No. This only proves that people are wishy-washy, and they do not hold fast to the Truths that God has given.

As you pointed out, God does not change, nor does His holy and righteous requirements for us.

But some people get lazy and self-centered in their thinking, so they try to change what God said to fit their life styles, when in reality they should change their life styles to fit with what God said.

Getting a divorce has never been a sin to Catholics. Getting a divorce and remarrying without an anullment is a sin but, not the divorce itself.

No it does not prove that God does not exist. t proves the religion does not represent God. That is not the same thing.
