Just supply all concerned parties with the correct VIN number. Mistakes happen.

First, give the police a copy of the paperwork from the dealer with the 'correct' VIN number.
Second, give the bank and the insurance company copies of the paperwork.
From now on, don't take delivery of any vehicle without verifying the VIN number. You can read the number off the vehicle.

Take the correct info to the Police Dept. and have them amend the report. Inform your insurance co. They'll need an amended copy also. There has been no crime on the part of the dealer. I once spent over three months driving with a temp. plate. Every time I went to get "my" plate, I was informed the vin I presented belonged to a different car.

On mom's Day my different 0.5, nicely-called Slut Bunny, offered herself a great street motorcycle, call and form isn't important through fact actually she is sharing an identical wind and black-good as ALL different riders, in any case, I spoke of the tires have been fairly climate checked (sidewalls have been cracking) and that they have been replaced at NC.. while they went to "attempt journey" the motorcycle after tire replace, the battery became lifeless. They gave it a speedy cost regardless of the undeniable fact that it too became as undesirable through fact the tires, and it too became replaced @ NC. those issues must be coated by making use of the broking till that's offered - AS IS..! And reported so before fee haggling and dotted line signing. i might ask for a clean battery..!! (wish it rather is purely the battery and not a bad charging device).. Bob - Tucson

I understand you're PO'd that they screwed up...but without malice aforethought..it was only a mistake.
Unless the Insurance company refuses your policy based on the error...they have only inconvenienced you. and there's not much of any recourse.
