At 6 weeks they get their first puppy shots. Since she isn't nursing off of mom and getting antibodies to help protect her from illnesses, its best to take her in and get them ASAP. They also get them at 8 and 12 weeks. Be sure she has had all of her shots before bringing her to doggy parks, petstores, etc because of the risk of getting a disease.

Bless your heart for saving this puppy!

OK, so you don't like vets.... that's dumb. Every dog dies but more dogs die when the are neglected and not brought to the vet. Your pup needs a 3 shot series then yearly boosters. usually at 8, 12, and 16 weeks but since your pup lost her mom and has no maternal antibodies you should get her the first set now at 6 weeks and then again at 10 weeks and 14 weeks. here's the thing though, although you can get these other shots yourself (with risk of doing it wrong and causing malignant tumors and other damage to tissue, let alone possible lack of protection from bad placement) in order to LEGALLY own a dog you need to get it vaccinated for rabies and that's something you need at vet for. I'm a vet tech and believe me, "killing" animals is the LAST thing vets want to do. Get over yourself and let a vet take care of your dog

She should be getting her first set of distemper, parvo etc shot at around 6 weeks which she is. There is no need for her to already have any shots it is the perfect time to start getting them. She will have to be around 16 weeks before she gets the rabies shot. You could try to start training her to pee outside but I think she is too young to understand what is going on. I would wait until she is 8 weeks old then start potty training. I have seen the dog diapers but I used the puppy pads and they seemed to work really well. My 8 week old puppy went straight to them I was also training her to go potty outside at the same time. When she realized that it was best to go potty outside she started shredding the puppy pads so I knew she was ready to not have many more accidents. Be patient when potty training a pup it takes awhile!!! Good luck you are a great person for saving a puppy!

Don't think it's OK for her to be outside, if she hasn't had her shots yet. You should get the pee-mats they work, and you can put it in a designated place in your home, she can go there. The mats have a scent that attracts the puppy.

You should call your vet and ask what shots are due and when? They will give you the exact break down.

I'm confused.....did you say the mother died giving birth and you kept one puppy? Did you bottle feed ever 2 hours yourself even though this is your first dog....or have I completely missed the mark here....are you saying the dog is 6 weeks old? Have you ever called a vet to ask for advice? At 6 weeks old she should have a vet check just to be sure everything is ok. Bless you if you really did devite all that time to this wee one. Good luck and please call a vet for help and advice!

puppies generally get shots starting at 6 wks and you give them every two week booster shots (and this is ideally) until they are 18 weeks then once a year after that you have the option of doing these yourself but i dont suggest it unless you know how to give shots which all you do is pull loose skin up on nape of neck and dispense shot right under neath skin from syringe and its called the puppy 5 way distemper parvo shot, however IF U DO NOT KNOW WHAT U ARE DOING general rule of thumb is go to vet...
Rabies shots arent recieved until 6 months these have to be givin by a liscenced vet.
start worming meds at 6 weeks i have found that Evict is a real gently wormer you do regular worming once a month.
take puppy to be heart wormed tested get him/her on a monthly regimen

"I don't believe in dogs going to the vet so they can killed them after so much period of time"

I realise you made typos, but what is the gist of this sentence exactly? You don't like taking dogs to the vets? You got insurance for your dog right? That's really good, but any insurance policy requires you to take minimum preventative measures for your dog's health - i.e vaccination, flea and worming, neutering.

Dogs are supposed to start their vaccinations at 8 weeks of age, so she'll be due for that in a few days time. You need to take her to a vet to get this done. You also need to get her spayed at 5 months of age, this is for her health. You need to get it done before her first heat to give her the maximum chance of avoiding mammary cancer in later life. It also saves her from pyometra and ovarian and cervical cancer.

Dog diapers are only for b itches in heat, they're not part of toilet training. It's never too early to start training a dog, they need proper socialisation and training, preferably at puppy classes.

She shouldn't really be outside before being vaccinated, and she certainly shouldn't have any contact with other dogs of unknown vaccination status.
