Nope. I have a health condition but I inherited it from my father's family, about 80% of whom have it.

Genetics, not sin.

So you've become a top contributor? Sorry I didn't notice when it happened. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

I'm not sure how it exactly works ---
in understanding spiritual strongholds or unconfessed sins ---
But the fact that people who are worrisome can develop ALL types of illnesses both physical and mental...

It has been known for a long that worrying causes people to become sick, both mentally and physically. Is it possible that unconfessed sin is eating away at our sub-conscious mind, causing all kinds of physical repercussions? As for s

Could it be?... when we are not hearing God's word and practicing our faith by believing it.... as scripture tells us, "Be not anxious about tomorrow..." for the Lord provides [for the birds in the air]... so His love for us has gotta be phenomenal... Could it be that it subjects us to spiritual strongholds? I know a believer cannot be possessed by a demon.

I'd rather have a "strong hold" on God, wouldn't you? Scripture that tells us the devil [who is of this world] is constantly whispering in our ear, and trying hard to convict us that we are unworthy.

But ALSO, I don't give the devil credit for his schemes. The Lord is Good, Merciful, Kind, Loving, Embracing, Wonderful. I magnify His name. He is above all the devil's schemes.

So, in retrospect of all that I've said, it seems to me that unconfessed sin is just one of the devil's schemes to trick us into believing we are unworthy. Conviction should come from the Bible. From scripture. Not from the deceitful one. That way, we know when we confess that we are confessing in alignment with God's Word, and NOT because the deceiving one said so.

God bless you this day, and upcoming days.

Not at all, and serious scientists have long since abandoned this notion. Yes, smiling, frowning, and other facial expressions are obvious tells of current emotional states, and may lead to permanent features (wrinkles). But this is not the concept in question. The proposal being made is that certain genetic traits relate to personality directly. A broad sloping forehead mean a person is stupid, wide-set eyes mean they're lazy, a big nose means they are criminal, etc. Any reasonable person knows that inherited characteristics have nothing to do with a person's psyche. The idea that "a dog that looks mean is mean", as someone else said, is pure foolishness.

Yes, I believe it is. I don't know anyone who knows what all manifestations are from what exact sins, but anyone can see into most of it.
First let me say, that IF the devil can get a disease or sickness or weakness or sin pattern into one generation and they just live with it and don't resist is, he will just pass it down the line through the family. That alone, having the stuff in one generation, gives him some power. It's like inherited and generational, you see?
Now, if you have ever heard of Henry Wright and Pleasant Valley Church in Georgia, you will see that this pastor is unique. He and his staff have focused on this for years after he was in medical school and the Lord has taught him much.
I have an understanding of much of this also; like: many rage and anger issues show up in kidney and bladder problems (pissed off), all levels and all ages, also many kidney stones are also attached to generational anger issues. To know this doesn't mean that you can only deal with the spiritual issues. I am a Christian Counselor and this is what my experience shows me: if you have medical issues that are present in your physical body, you MUST deal with them on that level and treat the symptoms in the body. Then if there are emotional/mental issues you MUST deal with these problems on that level such as new education, information, behavior modification, therapy, etc. Finally, the root and source of all issues is on the spirtual level because we ARE spirit (when we are born-again), we have a soul (mind, will, emotions) and we live in a soul. The only way to deal with the spiritual level is to repent for the sins we have done, that were done in generations before us (identification repentance: family, gender, societal, national heritage, racial, etc.)... the sins of the father's?
It is real, it is true. Even doctors know to follow certain diseases and sicknesses through the family line. Not all are affecting your DNA.., the father's bloodline. Some are coming through patterns and demonic attachments from repeated sinning. We know God's plan is to marry, be sexually active AFTER, and then have your children. He has an umbrella of protection for this order and NO protection outside this order. When this order isn't followed, it is SIN. Sin brings STD's, rejection, abandonment issues, then illegitimacy problems and the devil has access to the children since they don't have that umbrella of blessings and coverings. It isn't that God doesn't love all creation, but He has an order for us to follow and when we don't His hands are tied. WE open doors to the enemy and the devils plan is to kill, steal and destroy.
Health must start with the spiritual life, then the soulical life and finally the physical life reflects it outwardly.

Psycho-somatics has a powerful affect our bodies. Someone mentioned "Cancer" - The first thing "The Cancer Research Foundation" does for a patient is to get them in a frame of mind so that the medications and treatments will not only work but not be rejected by thier bodies.

Someone mentioned "A baby born with cancer wasn't the result of unconfessed sin." - Well, how do we know that that baby is not an "angel unawares" to give us a chance to be compassionate to the less fortunate among us.

Sex: I don't know if unconfessed sin hurts our sexlife, but I can witness that my "mind set" is inseparatable from my ability to have sex. (visa versa, I am sure.)

I say "When dealing with illnesses or diseases, or anything elses, nothing should be "taken off the table" so to say.

Did someone mention the kitchen table?

Jesus told the Essenes "Renew yourselves and fast. For I tell you truly, that Satan and his plagues may only be cast out by -fasting and by prayer.

For I tell you truly, except you fast, you shall never be freed from the power of Satan and from all diseases that come from Satan.

Jesus left no stone unturned when he preached to the Essenes:

"Seek, therefore, a large trailing gourd, having a stalk the length of a man; take out its inwards and fill it with water from the river which the sun has warmed. Hang it upon the branch of a tree, and kneel upon the ground before the angel of water, and suffer the end of the stalk of the trailing gourd to enter your hinder parts, that the water may flow through all your bowels. Afterwards rest kneeling on the ground before the angel of water and pray to the living God that he
will forgive you all your past sins, and pray the angel of water that he will free your body from every uncleanness and disease.

Then let the water run out from your body, that it may carry away from within it all the unclean and evil-smelling things of Satan. And you shall see with your eyes and smell with your nose all the abominations, and uncleannesses which defiled the temple of your body; even all the sins which abode in your body, tormenting you with all manner of pains.

I will be compassionate and not copy and paste the entire "Gospel of the Essenes".

edit: I think Bonsai Bobby is on track. If you follow his advice you may not need the "Gourd". - of course, we still need to confess/admit our mistakes readily and in humility. - Else the "Ego" will flare up and bite you where Jesus told the Essenes to put that "gourd".

edit: Come ona Mona, this is no time to chicken-out on us. Where is that pretty lady picture? Are you getting hit on by too many whipper snappers?

Yes, I do. When a person has guilt of something they did wrong, especially a very religious minded person, it causes them anxiety. Anxiety can lead to many different kinds of health afflictions. It can cause ulcers, of course, nausea, diarrhea, shortness of breath, chest pain, etc. and lead to depression, which only worsens the symptoms.

I believe many are sick from bitter root resentments, and hidden sin. But not all afflictions are, as Jesus said the one of the blind that he healed: it was not his sin or his mother or father's sin. Jesus said the man was born blind that God might be glorified. Many health problems could be reduced of we honored the temple of our body. I fail, but I try again.

“For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body. For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep. For if we would judge ourselves, we would not be judged” (I Cor. 11:29-31). so.... (It can be a reason for health challenges)

...however,here is another example...the story of the blind man, healed by Jesus and his answer to those who were questioning him, concerning the man's responsibility for his condition:

"Neither he nor his parents sinned," answered Jesus, "but he was born blind in order that God's mercy might be openly shown in him.

I also firmly believe that our lifestyle choices(wheather in ignorance or willing disreguard for the maintenance of our bodies), is a great factor in the state of our physical well-being. I have made very poor choices, pre Christ and post Christ, both willing and and in ignorance...and am struggling with one vice, that I have yet to repent for. To some it may seem no big deal, but to me it is shameful....I however,in the last 5 years, have been convinced and directed by God,to drastically change my eating habits and have been pursuing the "Alkalarian" vegan life style...popularized by Dr. Robert O. Young.("The PH Miracle")..This change came unexpectedly and seemingly beyond by control...How does 32 oz. of Broccoli, celery, and beet juice sound?....you can get used to it and even like it. Boy,I could use 4 oz of wheatgrass juice right now(one of the only juices that I must force my self to drink).. I think, once again,I may have got off track,in my answer....

Nope.

"There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things? I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem? I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." Mathew 13:1-5

Not all but some yes defiantly...look at the effects of holding on to unforgiveness...It makes you bitter and miserable....I had an aunt who was hard to be around because she was so bitter...(being resentful against someone is like drinking poison and expecting them to die from it.)
