To visit, I think you would need to have a valid US Passport, and at least be 18, but if you were younger and were with an adult, I don't think it would be a problem...

Any age with a parent..
You do not need a passport neither to go to Mexico but be sure to bring identification so you can come back..
Mexico is one of few you can go into without a passport.
If you are under age I would make sure to have an adult with you, I have heard of people having a difficult time coming back and Mexico jails are no joke

presently Mexico remains allowing US grownup electorate to pass into their united states via land and shuttle interior of 25 miles of the border with a driving force's license and delivery certificates, yet you'll be in the back of schedule once you come back to the U. S. in case you do not have a passport, passport card, or different authorized id. toddlers 15 years old or youthful would use a duplicate of their delivery certificates for shuttle via land. All adults and childrens ought to have a passport to fly to Mexico, and childrens traveling with out the two their mom and dad ought to have a letter from their mom and dad authorizing the shuttle. i'm hoping this answer enables.
