If you think you found your truck, andyou still have the original registration details, then check the VIN number you have on the paperwork with the one on the truck.. If you know a someone in law enforcement, ask them if they could do a check for you - but chances are the plates are stolen too, it it IS your stolen truck.
Good luck!

If an insurance company paid you out, they inherited salvage rights if the vehicle was found. If it is, indeed, the vehicle, it may have been recovered, and sold at auction to mitigate the insurance company losses. If it turns out it is your old truck, and somebody else actually has it registered, it may be perfectly legal. You are not entitled to the name of the registered owner. If you were never paid by insurance, make an enquiry at the police department. They are in a position to investigate ownership of the vehicle.

Let's say you are driving and cut some whack-o off. He gets your license plate number and then he has your name and address for free??????

I don't think you would want that and neither would a lot of other people.

It would be an invasion of privacy to give out the names of people. If there is a good reason, contact the police deparrtment and explain the situation and then request the name and see if they give it to you.

No, would you want the guy you cut off on the freeway to be able to look up your personal information using your license plate number and then be waiting to give you a surprise party when you come home late some evening? I'll bet not.

There's a good reason things like this aren't public information.

Check with DMV for your plate number to verify. DMV records are not to be released to the general public.

No. That's not public information. Only law enforcement and people with a need to have that info can get it.

unless you have an inside friend @ DMV , no. Were you paid by your insurance company ? It is possible that it may of been recovered & re sold. Once the ins co pays you for it , they bought it & may not have to notify you that it was recovered.
