did you see this story ?

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070713/ap_on_re_us/teen_sex_video

a prosecutor released a video tape of a 15 year old girl having sex with a 17 year old guy at a party because the 17 year old is in jail for it and the prosecutor wants to prove the 17 year old needs to stay in jail because he is such a bad person because the tape also shows him having sex with a 17 year old girl the same night.

my god, maybe we should just stone the kid to death.

hope he never sees a "girls gone wild video".

guess he went to bible study class when he was 17.

bet his daughter is hoping he doesnt find her tape.

and, the prosecutor also thinks it ok to distribute tapes of children having sex.

just wondering if anybody else sees a problem with this?

as a law student you must realize that if it is illegal to do it then it is illegal to distribute a tape showing it.

and, if this happened to your 15 year old daughter, would you want the guy to get 10 years ? he was 17, not 37.
he didnt force her.

Ms. lady

he is distributing to tape to the public. it is evidence, but anybody who makes a request can have a copy.

i dont see how you can call a 17 and 15 child molestation.

and, prosecute the girl ?

The boy is 17 (still a minor in some states). It is not against the law for minors to have sex. The D.A. is wrong for showing the two minors have sex. That is what we call child porn. It is wrong.

"me" is correct. there are way to many child molesters out there. the community needs to buckle the problem down. so therefore...the DA will push for harder charges. that's the way it works. he shouldn't have been having sex with a minor. also, if it were up to me; i would prosecute the minor also. she has no legal consent to have sex. i have to read up about the part you said the prosecutor thinks the tapes of the children having sex should be distributed. is it for evidence? if so...then yes, the court should allow the tapes for evidence. child porn is also illegal so I'm not understanding that part. the 17 yr old should have been thinking with his brain and not his d*ck. now he has to suffer the consequences for his actions.

to faith...is it illegal for minors to have sex. a lot of em just don't get caught or their parents don't report. minors don't have the legal consent from their parents to have sex...it's illegal. in some states the age of 17 is labeled as an adult. in this case/state...he's an adult.

I think it is wrong for teenager to have sex in the early age...but if the girl didn't say "NO" then what can anybody do anything to this boy. If this happen to my daughter, yes I would like to boy to face consequences, especially taped it when he did it, but not 10 years in prison. The law is really sucks in any states. They have nothing better to do and focus on, but society's personal life. Maybe the law's job was to focus 100% to sexuality so they can learn some new experiences to justifying their sex life....So sad this 17 years old had to suffered for his mistakes. Pray that in this circumstances, will bring him and his family close to God. Sometimes bad thing happen for purpose. Prosecutors and policeman only cares about money...not any human being.

The DA is wrong to show the tape. The kid was wrong to have oral sex with the 15 year old. And filming it and circulating it broke the law. But 10 years is also outrageous.

It seems a real bizzaire course of action.

I doubt that would happen over here in the UK, there would be an up-roar, and rightly so!

Saying that Judges over here have sure made some really truely morally wrong decisions.

NO...that's the law!!!! the prosecutor is trying to make an example out of him so that other people wont do the same stupid mistake. he slept with a minor and he needs to deal with the consequences. that's the D.A.'s job. to push for the worst punishment.
