idk why but my dog hates me! i don't know what to do. For some reason it likes my sister (who hates it) and it likes my brother (who prefers the cat over the dog), and then it likes my mom who wants to take it back to the humane society for crapping in the house! It also likes my neighbor who hates my dog and my sister's friend who will hit my dog (when i'm not around) for teathing on her stuff and her jeans.
last night when i was walking to the bathroom my dog started barking at me for no apparent reason. and whenever someone will pet her, she will roll on her back, but whenever i pet her, she'll run away! also whenever my brother, sister or mom leave the house she starts squeling and going crazy, and i'm the one who cleans up after her and feeds her! is there a reason why she hates me?

honestly work with her more not just feed and clean take her to obience and they will tell you she has no respect for you . I have a ( now ) 1 year old I rescued and she did everything but crap on my shoes . I got bit and growled at the whole nine yards. You have to set the rules and inforce them you are the owner she is the dog. Dogs by nature are pack animals right now you are low man on totem pole in ranks and she is above you.I have to say now Meeka ( our pet) is wonderful she knows her place and she is great. Talk to your vet about her behavior and they usually can reccomend a place to go . Good luck and keep in touch. P.S.The Dog Whisper Cesar Millan has some good books to and he has a show you can watch but always consult before you start.

Dogs are -pack animals -
You my dear , are at the back of the pack. Your dog is acting as your Alpha dog.
The Alpha dog treats its subordinates with a certain amount of indifference (hence the attention paid to those who don"t really seem to like her)
You need to take control and be Alpha over your dog. Make her behave for you and not be only the one who waits on her.
This however does not mean that you have to be cruel.
Some Veterinary clinics and pet stores have behavior and training classes. Check out Pet-Smart , Pets Are Us and ,or ask your vet if they might know of a place to go.
You must earn the respect of your dog-be the 'leader of the pack'

If she barks at you, speak to her in a firm tone, "No." The good news is that dogs cannot feel hate, so I can guarantee she doesn't hate you. She probably thinks she can override you, but you have to let her know who the master is.

My best advice would be to spend time with her, talk to her, give her attention and treats. She should warm up to you after a little while and become a great companion.

Dogs don't feel love or hate, these are human emotions that we humans attribute to our animals. I'm sure you know that, but we can get hurt when they seem to rebuff us.

Your dog is reacting to something in his past. Someone who cared for her was like the other people in your house, and you may remind her of other problems. But you can make the dog come around, I'm sure. Sit on the floor and call to her gently. Don't reach out for her, let her come to you. When you gain her trust, give her treats. I'm sure you'll be the best of friends! Good luck!

Try doing stuff with her. Like taking her outside and teaching her new tricks. When she does good things reward her with a biscuit. Just make sure you don't let her walk all over you!
You have to put your foot down at certain things. Get her comfortable with you.
