I have had to work overtime this week(13 hrs a day) I noticed my legs are feeling weak and my heels hurt and my legs get tingling when I do sit down. Why is this? Am I on my feet too much and how many hours are too many when you have a job that requires you to stand up all day. Will sleeping all weekend help?

This could be caused by to many numerous issues to mention here. From circulation to a pinched nerve in your back: from a muscle spasm in your back to the shoes your wearing. Your doctor will start at one point, probably X-Rays and simply go around in a circle to try and find out what's bothering you.
You could try the shoes first, then, if you stand, try this: Stand with one foot on something like a small box, one foot at a time to alleviate the back muscles. Then when you get home rest with your knees up. a pillow under them, while you sleep also. Sleep in the pre natal position.

If you can afford new shoes, try Easy Spirit tennis shoes with the waffle insole. I did factory work and they were the best ones for me. The best solution is to take a 10 minute break every hour or so, but that's not always possible. Drink plenty of water, 64 oz a day. Sometimes your muscles become fatigued from dehydration. The tingling worries me a little. Stretch during breaks to increase circulation. It takes 10 seconds for a good stretch to increase blood flow.

This is probably a circulation issue. You need to keep moving. Sleeping is probably counterproductive. I would suggest you try to get some exercise after work and on your days off. You could do a little light running, some stretching, yoga, whatever.

13 hours is too much to be standing, but I don't know where the break-point is. I would bet that you should be taking a break every 2 hours and keeping the total down to 8 hours.

Actually there are people who stand for days and yet they do not have any pain..........
The pain is the beginning .After some time you will be used to it and thereafter your stamina will increase. I advice you not to do sex during the starting few days coz it reduces ur bodies attention towards the new challenge the body is facing. Remember the more U vex ur body the stronger it becomes.

Do you stand on concrete at work? That can tire your legs quickly. Maybe your job will let you use one of those squishy mats so that you have less impact on your feet and legs. Squishy mats also help prevent varicose veins :)
