It would be heresy to start playing with such a classic car. Most of them got 10-15 highway and about 10 city. Keep the car original or you will destroy its value.

A small block stock will get lousy mileage, lets s ay a 318 stock on the highway 17 mph tops, a 340 15 tops..... a 440.... give it up! LOL!!! No such thing as good gas milege when it comes to a V-8..... im in the same boat with my Durango with the 360....

I owned a 1968 Charger R/T with a 440. It got 11 mpg. You don't say what engine your has but if it a 383, 440, or 426 hemi, you will get around 10 - 12 mpg if you drive in a reasonable manner.

Depending on what motor you should be able to achieve 15 mpg.If it is a 4 barrel carb switching to an edelbrock carb will help mileage so will an rv cam and headers with dual exhaust. Also check your rear gearing if you have a 3.91 gear or a 4.10 gear switching to a 3.55 or 3.23 gear will help your highway mpg.As chargers are desirable cars keep the original parts on the side.

Keep it in tune for one, the second part is up to how you drive it anticipate stops, accelerate slowly (hard to do in one of those) check your tire inflation weekly. It is also dependent upon what engine and carboration set up you have. In those days gas was only 20 cents a gallon so we did not worry about it To many variable to give you an actual millage
