Firstly, I would like to let you know that I gave people ratings (thumbs up or thumbs down) based on whether they had a good answer or not, not whether it fit my opinion. So even if they suggested a different belief then mine, I may have given them a thumbs up. Because many people just give a thumbs up to the people they AGREE with rather than thinking that the answer was well thought out and written, or a thumbs down if they didn't agree with the person.

Anyways, I would naturally tell you that my religion is the true one, and I can't help that :) So I would recommend Islam. This may sound crazy because this religion may be at the bottom of your list for various reasons:

1) The media has caused you to believe that Islam is violent, pro-terrorist, intolerant, oppressive to women, etc., when in fact the truth is the exact opposite.

2) You don't like the fact of having to pray five times a day (I'm sad to say that I do not and I wish I could more often, but I just got back from Friday prayer not too long ago because I am able to go now that school is out of the way), fasting for a month, or not being able to consume pork.

3) Islam is a religion that your family will just not tolerate.

I'll explain these:

1) For a full answer on this one, please read my answer to this question; it may be a bit long but its well worth the read, and watch if you decide to watch the video at the bottom :)

2) For me, praying is the hardest part. I don't always have time, but I try.
I always fast all 30 days, and it is understandable if you are unable to do so your first time.
I was born Muslim, and never ate pork, so that was easy enough for me...
But if you are able to surpass the hardships you encounter and try your best to be a good Muslim, the rewards are even greater. If you are truly dedicated to the religion, your chances of going to Heaven are greatly increased.

3) Self-explanatory =D

Well, there is a lot more that I haven't discussed, so I hope my fellow Muslim brothers and sisters may enlighten you. If you so choose to become Muslim, we would all be very proud of you. If not, it is ok, and it is understandable. We are not forcing you at all.

If you read everything up to this point, including my answer from the other question, I truly appreciate that and respect that you did so. Well, good luck, and I hope you make the right decision that is best for you!

EDIT: Nelly is right. The Qu'ran (Koran) is the only holy book that remains unchanged and uncorrupted to this day, unlike the Torah and the Bible. Because Judaism was corrupted and adulterated, Christianity emerged as a result, and because Christianity was corrupted and adulterated, Islam emerged as a result as the final, uncorrupted, unadulterated religion of Abraham. It is the last of the Abrahamic religions and will be preserved perfectly, unable to be corrupted and adulterated. If Christianity were not corrupted and adulterated, all Muslims today would be Christians, as there would have been no need for Islam to emerge.

The one true religion is the one that is right in your life-your heart and soul.

No one can tell you what to believe - Christians, Muslims, Jews, Athiests, Agnostics, etc. Only YOU can decide what is the one true religion to you.

There is no one true religion for every person on Earth. If there were, wouldn't we all be believers of it?
I am a Christian. I was raised as such. But I experienced my own journey of faith and chose to remain Christian, I made that leap of faith.
Other people are raised as Muslim, Jewish, Hindu, and tons of other religions.

One last thought here - there is such diversity in mankind. There is so much variety, is it unreasonable to think that God "created" more than one religion?

I would say Islam, but everyone has their own opinion. Whether I was a jew, christian or muslim, I would have faith in the same One God. But there are many interpretations and methods of worshipping God. I believe in all the books: The Book of Abraham, Torah, Bible, etc. however, these have been altered by human hand. How can the human hand be right? They altered it to fit the lifestyle of their era, not for what was right. Isn't the Bible changed every year by the CoE? The Qur'an has never been changed. That is where my loyalty lies. I know Islam is misinterpreted in the West, you tend to see and hear about the minority who has wrongly interpreted the word "Jihad" etc. But if they were believers at heart, surely we'd be living side-by-side in peace and happiness.

It's like asking which superhero is the real one.

Nobody can prove any gods, much less a specific god, exist; many people will tell you their god exists but no others, but will never be able to prove it, even if they think so. Some will threaten you with eternal pain or promise eternal joy to get you to believe in their god; these are all stories, created for people who were scared long before we understood the universe. Now we have no more reason for these superstitions.

I'd like to know how any one thinks they have the correct religion. There are more than 10,000 religions world wide. Which means you only have a 0.01% chance of having the correct religion. Which means there is a 99.99% chance you have the wrong religion.

There is no god and religion is all man made to help folks cope with unanswered questions...

since I am currently searching, I have narrowed it down to three:

Islam: because the Quran makes a lot of sense (If you read it with good footnotes so you get the real meaning) It doesn't conflict with science like some other religions do.

Sikhism: Very accepting. Hate in itself creates bad karma. Missionaries are forbidden, and all religions are seen as other paths to the same ultimate goal. However, I can't imagine a God who forbids people to shave.

gnosticism: Knowledge will get you into heaven, is my understanding of this religion. I like knowledge and smart people, so therefore, i like this religion. I need to know more though, no pun intended.

Discordianism. I'll be happy to tell you the five commandments of Discordianism:

THE FIVE COMMANDMENTS (THE PENTABARF)
The PENTABARF was discovered by the hermit Apostle Zarathud in the Fifth Year of The Caterpillar. He found them carved in gilded stone, while building a sun deck for his cave, but their import was lost for they were written in a mysterious cypher. However, after 10 weeks & 11 hours of intensive scrutiny he discerned that the message could be read by standing on his head and viewing it upside down.

KNOW YE THIS O MAN OF FAITH!

I - There is no Goddess but Goddess and She is Your Goddess. There is no Erisian Movement but The Erisian Movement and it is The Erisian Movement. And every Golden Apple Corps is the beloved home of a Golden Worm.

II - A Discordian Shall Always use the Official Discordian Document Numbering System.

III - A Discordian is Required during his early Illumination to Go Off Alone & Partake Joyously of a Hot Dog on a Friday; this Devotive Ceremony to Remonstrate against the popular Paganisms of the Day: of Catholic Christendom (no meat on Friday), of Judaism (no meat of Pork), of Hindic Peoples (no meat of Beef), of Buddhists (no meat of animal), and of Discordians (no Hot Dog Buns).

IV - A Discordian shall Partake of No Hot Dog Buns, for Such was the Solace of Our Goddess when She was Confronted with The Original Snub.

V - A Discordian is Prohibited of Believing what he reads.

IT IS SO WRITTEN! SO BE IT. HAIL DISCORDIA! PROSECUTORS WILL BE TRANSGRESSICUTED.

The one that most closely follows Bible standards and principles. My true religion is with Jehovah's Witnesses.

But, of course, everyone must choose for themselves.

The one truth in ALL religion is that ALL religions are man made. The is no true word of god made by man in religion.
(sorry bible thumpers, if you knew anything at all with regards to the christian faith you would know this already, but when you blindly follow and believe the lies told to you in church only ignorance follows.)
